47474184-oS4qB.jpgIf you have a Weber or similar these 70cm skewers are a good investment (bought on Amazon for £18 for a pack of four) and will last a lifetime. As they are flat you can balance the lid on top for indirect cooking or put the coals underneath for the direct method. They are 1cm across meaning you can put bigger pieces on and turn easily.

I know this isn't really a deal. But just sharing some advice.

47509148-hvBVX.jpgThese are also from Amazon and are bit expensive but they are Stainless Steel 1 inch wide bars especially designed for Seekh Kebabs as it was difficult to balance Kebab on thin metal. I have these and never looked back. I use them frequently and yet not a single stain on them as they are easy to wash and put away for next BBQ. Buy cheap buy twice. I did buy few cheap sets before and threw them away after couple of uses.

This looks good, but if you cannot find one then best bet is to clean and then oil the grill first (use tongs to hold some kitchen paper soaked in a high heat oil) then you’ll find far less sticking as a result (also, you can marinade the meat with some oil… which will prevent sticking and dry tasting chicken)

Handy things, bought 2 sets last time, great to put my sheek kebabs on skewers (bought the long flat ones). Brilliant and doesn't stick to the grill. Heat op

Thanks, worth a look. Doesn't mention dimensions on the website though.

Whilst the skewer will lock, as its thin and rounded the food item will spin on the skewer and so user won't be able to turn meat easily for even cooking. These rounded skewers are generally a pretty poor solution for grilling skewered meat. Better solution is flat skewers, or those skewers with two prongs on each skewer.

Dude, you are right. These are crap. Chicken and pork just spinning

Great item, the last one I bought had round skewers (dunno if it was Lidl) so was useless as the same side just kept rolling down, the heaviest side obviously. These are way better as they are flat and enable you to rotate them and they lock into place.

Just get, as mentioned, thick kebab shop style skewers, they are far superior for heating and flipping...look for koobideh

Any idea where I'd get a terracotta tandoor plate or dish from that fits inside a ninja foodi 6300uk , or a forum?

Looks good although I would prefer the stainless steel version given what I've heard about non-stick coatings and high temperatures.

These look better than the usual rubbish round ones but won't be anywhere near as good as the proper Turkish ones. I think you need them to be at least 10mm wide really

This is what you need for proper kebabs (edited)

They're flat but not very wide, so the meat tends to spin when you try to rotate it, unless you put 2 skewers in.

I've bought ones similar to a kebab shop, they're about 2cm wide, so the meat doesn't spin and I can hand roll the Sheesh (minced lamb) onto them without falling apart.

Your suggestion to invest in flat skewers is spot on. Any skewer that is not flat will just rotate until the heaviest part of the kebab is facing the heat. IMO this Lidl item is practically useless.

These skewers are like £2 each in your local turkish supermarket.

Went to lidl and had a look. They seem alright but decided to look elsewhere for something bigger. I think you'd struggle to use these well

Bought it, and used it today. Looks nice, folds to half.

I am happy with it for £5, the kebabs were great and I was able to rotate it. Good that it can be put into dishwasher.
