Intense colour for intense gaming

Play your games the way they were meant to be played with the LG UltraGear 27GP950 4K Ultra HD 27" Nano IPS LCD Gaming Monitor.

LG has improved IPS with their Nano technology. Allowing for a wider colour gamut, experience vivid and lifelike colour as you're roaming through luscious RPG landscapes.

Stunning 4K Gaming

With 4K Ultra HD, you'll see every crisp detail of your game, while HDR provides the sharp contrast you need to spot enemies hiding in the shadows. And the virtually borderless display won't interrupt your immersion in the middle of a match.

To stay comfy during long gaming sessions, find the perfect viewing position to suit you. Customise the height, pivot and tilt of your monitor thanks to the adjustable stand.

Ultra-smooth gameplay

Fed up of screen tearing and stuttering ruining cutscenes? By matching the monitors refresh rate to your GPU, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro ensures a smooth, fluid performance.

Featuring HDMI 2.1 connectivity, the LG UltraGear 27GP950 offers VRR support to eliminate lag and frame tearing.

Show off your expert moves with the speedy 1 ms response time and 160 Hz refresh rate. You'll just need a graphics card that can keep up with the action.

Is it not normally 1440p at 27" and 4K at 32" and above as the sweet spot?

    It depends.
If you play FPS shooting games and sit at a desk (so about 18-24 inch from screen), a 32" can be difficult to pick out enemies because your peripheral vision has to work harder panning for targets.
If you play other types of games, its not such an issue. I currently play fps games on this very monitor, whereas i play other games on my 55" OLED.
I paid 799.00 for mine a while back, so this is a bargain.

typlical pros and cons of IPS pc monitors

    non existent constrast
you don't get blacks, you get shades of grey
16 zones of backlight mean you get random area lit up in darker areas
600 nits isn't enough for impactful HDR gaming

    good colour handling
    good gradient handling
input lag is good but not 1ms- its 4ms, which is slightly better than your average OLED or QLED from 2022

tldr- better than most laptop screens. its going to be a while before PC monitors catch up to TVs, the days of PC monitors offering the best quality screens is long gone.

Update: Received free delivery from DPD courier. Monitor is good overall. Only think I don't like is the stand, gets in the way swiping mouse. No issue if you are not using PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. 4k :D. Its so shiny some games. It's pleasing. If you are going from 2k to 4k. It is slightly better. My fps is coping well. Nice, I got a 3080 Strix I'd love to know what performance you get with yours...

What games do you play? The LG stands are a bit lame, buy a VESA mount.

This or the samsung g7 at £480 for a series x?

The LG is better for a Series X IMO. If you cared more about 240Hz than 4K, the Samsung would be the better choice, but there are no games on the Series X that run at higher than 120FPS, plus there are plenty that render at 4K, so a 4K/120Hz panel is a better choice. There aren't any other major differences between them worth noting.

Not bad but 27inch is a bit small for 4K. 32 inch would be perfect.

32" would be too big for most keyboard and mouse gamers. I owned a brilliant 32" Samsung QHD monitor and that was the issue for me (edited)

    Good find.
Do they do a 27" 4k 60hz model with a similar bezel? Looking at replacing my ultrawide with one of these in a dual monitor setup but would like other monitor (used for mainly media consumption) to look similar front on. Thanks
