Anyone have any experience with the Kettle Joe? Trying to decide on this or a new Weber Master Touch
    sug's avatar
My friend has both and never uses his WMT anymore. He loves the Kettle Joe and the Weber rottisserie kit fits it too.

Thank you, such a good deal! Unfortunately placed an order via sports direct and shortly had an order cancellation message, stating item out of stock, well done to anyone that managed to nab one! Wish I hadn't cancelled my Harbour lifestyle Kamado order now

Kettle Joe BBQ 33 or Weber Master Touch Premium - anyone?
    streetkid's avatar
Personally the Weber in conjunction with the slow n sear. The reason for me, is the slow-roller on the Kettle Joe is not easy to remove mid cook.

Wow, Reminds me of Emperor's new Clothes. Gotta follow the fashion. £1k for a BBQ lol!!!

Far better hiring a bricklayer to build a standard BBQ. Easier to use, Easier to clean, Easier to buy Parts for. It all tastes the same!
    Rubs's avatar
If you think you could self-build a comparable full system to the Classic III for a grand you shouldn’t be anywhere near a BBQ without supervision! (edited)

It actually pains me that I'm too worried about keeping a buffer in my account to spend what little disposable income I have on one of these. Not sure we'll see prices like this again for a long time
  7. r1mmm3r's avatar
Just got the Aldi one (it'll be with my next week).
I'm hoping it'll be a cheap way to know if I really need to spend this kinda money on a BBQ.
If i use it an like it then it'll be easier to justify a more expensive version.

And I do appreciate that the Aldi version won't be as good as this.

I've got the aldi one mate and it's a great piece of kit to learn on, it's also a really addictive hobby! I'm after something bigger now after owning it for 18 months

Crikey, just bought myself a Kamado Joe II. Have recently returned from the US where my bruv in law had one of these. The ribs he made -- holy crap, worth it for those alone. I told myself I'd get one once the price was right. I have a Weber Gas grill that I love, plus a Weber MasterTouch, plus, well far too many BBQs for my own good. That said, I can't imagine the Joe ever going cheaper than this here in the UK and so, well, life's too short not to get one. Have read some of the reviews on Amazon. It looks like delivery will be epic. This thing weighs a tonne. We have a gravel drive -- so I know how it's going to go down: delivery guys will get here and tell us they can't take it any further than the top of the drive. I guess I'll just have to unpack it in the drive and take it piece by piece if need be. Thereafter I think I'll need a forklift to move it. Cheers for the post OP!

Check your emails if you got one. My order went to “ready to ship” so was processed and money taken and I’ve just got a cancellation email. Joke company now that fat idiots got his hands on it!

Can anyone detail the difference between this and the green egg ? Would performance and utility be roughly the same ?
    AlphaFox's avatar
The big green egg doesn't come with accessories and doesn't offer as many accessories as the Kamado Joe range. The KJ comes with a lot of the accessories already included. Theres a detail video comparing the 2 brand on youtube by 'Smoking Dad BBQ'

The Classic II and III appear to be back on the various websites (House of Fraser, LillyWhites and Sports Direct).

However, I just ordered a classic II and got an immediate order cancellation email. :/
    Rubs's avatar
A what point does it become false advertising, they clearly know it’s not in stock. There was probably only ever one of each advertised over all the websites. I’m sure legally they’ll be covered but it’s complete p-take

That is s crazy price for the classic 3. Heat
  13. garhunie's avatar
    crazy prices!
  14. mikefy's avatar
    Where is the £300 price?
  15. AlphaFox's avatar
I'm sooo tempted! But i recently got the Joe JR and absolutely love it
  16. davemorris1's avatar
These are great prices for these models but can't help thinking what can you do on these that you can't do on an Aldi Kamado at £400.
    BunnyX's avatar
The biggest advantage is the much wider range of accessories that will fit without any issues.

Beyond that, not a great deal
  17. 979316's avatar
Added heat but tried adding the III to basket and it's not doing it. Think must be OOS now
    john.gains's avatar
Someone else posted a deal with sportsdirect hotukdeals.com/dea…989 owned by the same company. The Classis III is avilable on there

  21. slliw's avatar
Really good deal, already have the classic 3 but would kill for a price cut on the big Joe 3
  22. Chamander's avatar
Has anyone used the Classic II with a Slo Roller? Or shall I wait until the next III deal?
  23. nelson1j's avatar
I bought the kettle joe 2 weeks ago for 330 inc cover and it is excellent value. It is a serious upgrade from the Weber kettle I have for the following reasons, hinge which enables lid to be opened with one hand and stays open whilst u baste food, divide and conquer food system enables u to sear, and keep food warm, the thermal bricks do a great job at enabling the oven to maintain a stable temp with lid shut which extends cooking time/flexibility. The most important thing tho is the food is moist, and not dry (which was an issue with the Weber). Haven’t tried the slow roller, and didn’t want a ceramic egg as I am mainly going to use for searing/grilling, and may do the odd slow cook which the kettle should handle. Another benefit is that the Weber accessories fit the joe which means I can have a full sear grate and use the Weber outer ring to keep things warm… At £300 it is a bargain
