This stuff is appalling. Do not buy it! Was starting to wash out after 3 months, and that was having given it 2 coats!

    You had RAIN? (edited)

I calculated based on their instructions that 1 tub would do my fence and a bit leftover. I read some reviews and thought I'd buy 2 just in case. I only just finished it with the 2 buckets.

Wait what . A 1 coat paint at 12L did one fence ?

It's been 2 months and ours hasn't faded. It actually went a bit darker when it dried in the sun. We have had a lot of rain and some really heavy down pours but it still looks great. Just follow the instructions. It's only been 2 months but good so far and makes a lot of difference to the look of the fence. Creosote is banned for general use in the UK as it's so damaging to health and the environment

Lasted less than 1 year on some of my wooden fences and structures. Went over to Fencelife+ now get 2 years (instead of their quoted 5 and I'm applying 3 or 4 coats). If I knew then, what I know now, I wouldn't have used it. Now stuck with the stuff as it would look odd to switch colours with a different manufacturer.

The biggest issue is that it easily abrades, if it gets the slightest knock. It's almost as if it doesn't penetrate into the wood.

this stuff's kinda rubbish. 2 coats needed for any decent sort of coverage, especially if you want it even remotely even and without patches. It's nice to work with and easy to use, but as it's super water-based it gets sucked into rough-wood really quickly, making it quite difficult to spread far and you do end up using a fair amount. I guess that's kinda the point, to soak in and add protection (and colour) but it's worth mentioning that it's not an oily formula that spreads a long way.

I'd say get double the amount you think you'll need and go from there - worst case is you'll have spares for patches for next spring

    Is this any good?
Can it be used on decking too?
    TIA.

Better than the Ronseal Timbercare but not as good as Cuprinol Ducksback.

Never used it on decking personally but someone else might have some previous experience of using it.

It says 'Colours and protects rough sawn wood' and decking is usually smooth wood so probably not.

One coat went on fine for us on previously unstained panels. Doesn't go far though - nowhere near the coverage you'd expect & isn't a quick job as the wood really soaks this stuff up. Re-evaluating doing the whole fence in this given it'll need re-doing again in a couple of years at best & more criticism than recommendations for it.

Useless. Buy proper creosote off ebay

Hi, where do you get hold of it from? There is creocote which is a substitute (edited)
