Highly Recommended.
If you're Left-wing, or even if you have doubts about market economies, you'll love his arguments because they're so easy to understand. If you're on the Right, you'll have a very clear idea of how your cleverest opponents think ... Varoufakis tells all this with exemplary verve ... It's great fun to read ... Varoufakis has started a debate here, and he's done it brilliantly ― Evening Standard
Utterly accessible, deeply humane and startlingly original – a potent democratic tool at the perfect time -- Naomi Klein, author of No Is Not Enough
A provocative, challenging, yet non-patronising analysis of the global economy: what it is, how it came to be and why it can never be apolitical. By using ancient myths, contemporary culture and family stories, Varoufakis makes the text intimate and accessible -- Nigel Jones ― Observer
Experts have often found it easier to hide behind opaque language than to explain complex concepts in simple terms … Varoufakis wants to smash this barrier: he argues from the outset that if we defer to experts on the economy then we hand over all our most important political decisions to them … Varoufakis does equip his readers with the beginnings of a new language, and punctures myth after myth -- Anna Minton ― Guardian
Varoufakis's brief history of capitalism unspools with characteristic fluency and verve ... those seeking to better understand the 'black magic' of bankers should look no further ― Financial Times
A stimulating and elegant perspective on market economies. It is accessible but not simplistic … A superb chapter on banking ... provocative and stylish -- Paschal Donohoe ― Irish Times
One of the most accurate and detailed descriptions of modern power ever written ― Guardian on Adults In The Room

Rhetoric and overcomplicated wording helps him push his image of being a socialist over the touchline. His daily life is so not of the people. A hypocrite. He had the opportunity to do something during his 5 months in power, yet he squandered it but now he's writing books about his time there.
He's developed a massive ego and built a persona which earns him tens of thousands from each appearance.
He's developed a brand and milking it for everything it's worth.
I used to listen to his theories with interest when he first appeared on the scene.
You know he was once a massive advocate of right wing politics in his earlier days when he had hair? A video on YouTube at a time when he lived out in Australia, that he had requested YT to take down following a few online comments pointing out his U-turning.
Of course he has the right to do so, but he plays the righteous card far too often, from one of a number of his homes dotted across some of the Greek islands and mainland.
He is just theories and offers no real world solutions.
He winks at the camera as he spews more guff that he feels he will remain unchallenged on.
Upturned Burberry collar anyone?
Thirst for knowledge, almost as much as his and her's consumption of cash. (edited)
Socialism, has been been imposed on a variety of Nations/Creeds/cultures, all with the same outcome, generally speaking, some far more horrific than others.
I'm currently in Vietnam, it's still got the relevant flags on display.
If that's what you aspire to, by all means come and live the dream of socialism. I'm sure there are other options available outside of the capitalist model.
I'll take capitalism, with a dose of, social collectivism, any day of the week, thank you (edited)
