Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB Scanner - Windows 11 Driver

I'd like to use an older A3 scanner that I own on my Windows 11 PC. The model is a Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB.

I've been onto the Mustek website and their drivers go up to XP, although there is a text file in the downloads folder which says it will work with Windows 10 - you need to 'Disable driver signature enforcement'
Index of /pub/new/driver/ScanExpress A3 USB/ (mustek.com.tw)

I've done that but the driver still doesn't work. I then did a Google search and there is a product called VueScan (www.hamrick.com) who apparently use their own drivers for older scanners.
I downloaded VueScan and my A3 scanner worked on my Windows 11 computer. But...it's a demo version only and you have to pay £25 for the licensed version.

So...there must be a way I can get Windows 11 to recognise my A3 scanner now I know it works with VueScan.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I can get it working so I can use it without the need for purchasing VueScan. Happy to use it with Windows Fax and Scan.

Thanks

Vuesan has worked with every prehistoric scanner I have ever thrown at it.

One of my second-user Windoze boxes has "Vuescan Portable" installed and do not recall ever having to pay sub / premium.

Even the basic edition of the paid version has limitations hamrick.com/pur…tml

My scanner is probably 20 years old now, but new A3 scanners are expensive to buy so wanted to resurrect my Mustek. Plus I rarely need to scan in A3 so it would only be for occasional scanning, hence why I'm trying to find a free way of getting it working.
