3000W!!!!! That's close to 13amps, maxing out the socket and maybe your house circuit.
    Cooling_Deals's avatar
Actually, pretty much 13amp; 3kw is really common for fast-boil kettles, so nothing unusual here.

Fun fact - 13A rated fuse is not designed actually to blow at 13A - they are designed to allow a current of 20A to pass indefinitely without blowing.

Ring mains are normally rated at 32amp and no lower than 20amp depending on several factors - you're very unlikely to exceed even the lower side at any one time adding this to the circuit. And if you did, the RCD / MCB will do its job and trip

The only real issue would be placed on an extension lead or multi-plug, which wouldn't be advised. (edited)

Got this one with the matching toaster. Not worth the money. Any money really.
Top lid fails to open every now and then, plastic inside, used a lower temperature setting maybe twice in a year so useless function.
Good bits - energy efficient. Boils quick and stays hot for longer because of double walls.

Agree with the above comments, not a major issue but the lid does get stuck a few time and I rarely adjust the temp.

I bought this a while ago "Order placed 7 October 2013 Total £59.99"

From my previous comment a while ago about this kettle.

"I must have been lucky. Our kettle is coming up to 8 years old and never had a problem with leaks or the lid. The biggest downside is the very loud beep it makes whenever any button is pressed. It beeps when you switch it on for instance, when you change temperature, when it reaches temperature, when you lift the kettle off the base. As soon as it was out of warranty I opened it up and bunged up the speaker with blu-tac - peace! I would have another one but wouldn't even wait for the warranty before silencing the thing."

Still going strong and I do use the temperature control every day for freshly ground coffee. I would buy another without hesitation based on my experience. (edited)

How loud is the boil? My current kettle sounds like it blast off to Mars at boiling point

    Pricey for a badge

Had this for years, it’s quality you’re buying not a badge.

Best kettle ever. Had mine for years and bought a spare. I like teas at 80 - 90. Disable the annoying beep though (YouTube vid)
  6. mrice47's avatar
Love this kettle. The lid is a bit poor but there is a technique to nullify this, just hold it up near the spout. Temp control is essential for proper coffee and green tea. I use 90 for all coffee and 80 sometimes for Aeropress. Brilliant!!!
    Beamish's avatar
I use 90 for the Aeropress because I figure it's going to lose heat when it's in the press but I'm by no means a coffee connoisseur. Yorkshire Tea is more my thing and that definitely needs 100% and 6 minutes. No more, no less

I've got this kettle and the matching toaster, had it for years. Very good quality although the lid is sticking a bit now. The adjustable temperature is extremely useful.
  8. GDB2222's avatar
Had mine over 5 years, and still going strong. We nearly always use the temperature control, and I really don’t understand the comments from people who say that feature is useless, as they hardly ever use it.

The temperature controls saves surprisingly much electricity. I estimate it saves around 30 seconds on average each time I use the kettle, and I use it 5 times a day. At today’s electric costs, that’s saving around £15 worth of electricity a year. That’s compared to a standard kettle.

Do currys/ argos price match amazon?
    Cooling_Deals's avatar
Currys will price-match any UK retailer, but not Amazon

Argos no longer price match any retailer

    I love mine.

Used to have this one but it started to malfunction after 3 or 4 years. Upgraded to the new white ones with the round base and its even better. Is this the old style then?
    Cooling_Deals's avatar
This is still a current model - I think you have the newer range (TWK7203GB), which is slightly larger, but essentially the same
  12. martaluscious's avatar
Is this fully stainless steel inside? As can find any info
    D963's avatar
    No, it's plastic
  13. Beamish's avatar
I've had this for around 18 months. Think I paid about a fiver less but then everything's gone up. Good kettle and I like the control of the temp for making coffee and lower temps for kid's hot chocolate. Not cheap but a good product

Good to know as I have ordered it.

Useless for me, cause I need 60°C for my beverages in thermal mug.
Bought SilverCrest one, from Lidl with digital temp control (40°C-100°C) for half of this price and works perfectly for 3/4 years now.

Mine still going strong after many years. Recommend

Got this and the coffee machine. I like them both and never had an issue. I’d say they are upper-mid range and worth the money. Hope this helps

We used to buy expensive kettles that cost £100-£200. They always lasted around 2 years. This Bosch is by far the best kettle we've owned. We've had it for 8 years. I actually bought a spare in this Black Friday sale just in case it gets discontinued before ours needs replacing. (edited)

You might want to cancel unless you want to have that feeling of having an airport runway in your kitchen
    caparn1's avatar
    It's a really quiet kettle.
  19. SubaruWRX's avatar
Mine in white also going strong many years of use
    Bugwan's avatar
Same here and no lid or over boil issues, I use the lower temp for herbal teas
  20. Cooling_Deals's avatar
I paid £46.25 on amazon warehouse a couple of years back (on a black Friday deal)

I love it - it's better than any kettle I have ever had - very well built

It holds hot water for ages, which is handy if, like me, you switch it and then forget to make the tea! Good for coffee, as 90C is better suited for it - the "keep warm" function works really well for descaling

    Highly recommend

should i grab this or wait for a gooseyboii kettle?
    Cooling_Deals's avatar
What on earth is a "gooseyboii kettle"?
  23. anharone's avatar
This kettle is amazing. Have had it nearly 5 years. Solid.

Good, but I prefer my Bosch Filtrino.
    mywife's avatar
Likewise, had mine for years but started leaking internally. Would def replace it with the same, but shame they don't make them any more. Great cos had filter built in too!
  25. ivegotafurryknob's avatar
Brilliant kettle as in a morning when ur in a rush I just boil it too 70-80 and I can drink it quite quickly
  26. omones's avatar
Ordered, I’ve always used cheapest kettles thought I’d treat myself now need a white toaster though (edited)
  27. J-w-w's avatar
Nope. A word if warning. Mine broke quickly. Not what you expect from bosch.👎👎👎 (edited)
    CrabLasagne's avatar
    Was it covered by warranty?
  28. stumac3's avatar
This was the one that Boris said "if you buy this and boil everything to 90 degrees you'll save a tenner a year". Joking aside, I have one, it's very good.
  29. Salad_Fingers's avatar
I had the slight variant of this (full handle) styline and it started to leak after a year or so of use.

Did love it despite that though and have replaced with a white one recently.
  30. Itssocheap's avatar
Doubt anyone would be using the keep warm function!
    Cooling_Deals's avatar
    Good for descaling
  31. cristoff's avatar
Had this for years now. It is just a kettle, but it is far and away the best kettle I’ve owned or used. The 90°c function is really handy for green tea etc and it’s so quick to boil. The only criticism is the loud beep.
  32. Halo's avatar
I don't like mine as the beeping drives me mad.
  33. Coulomb's avatar
How is it for fast pouring? Our current kettle just spills water all over the place when trying to fast pour for something like pasta. Can this empty quickly without splashing everywhere?
  34. vb90's avatar
One of the best devices I own. Extremely good quality

Hands up if you regret buying this because it's like living next door to Heathrow
