Do yourself a favour and never use that waste. All 3 of mine stopped working within a couple of weeks (they would get stuck down and took a lot of effort to open the plug). Mine came from Screwfix, but it's the same waste unit. Even when they do work, after a couple of months they will block up because of the tiny hole for water to escape from. Buy a McAlpine waste and never look back. You've been warned as if you cannot change the waste yourself you'll be paying very soon for a plumber to come back out.

I wouldn't even recommend cheap taps like this, but at least they tend to work, just that they tend to have too high of a flow so the water bounces out of the sink. (edited)

I am thinking about going back to a waste with a normal plug, fed up of changing wasted with pop up plugs as everyone so far starts to stick and in the end fail. Its a good idea but they are just prone to problems

And… can anyone out there say ‘landlord special…’

    Thanks - ordered 10

For anyone thinking about fitting their own pop-up waste… do yourself a favour and get one of these… you can thank me later.

These taps do the job, fancy ones end up loose after a while

Great company to deal with. I had to return a tap that leaked and they refunded without any hassles at all

Can't buy the valve alone for that price.
    Bargain

Does anyone know if it comes with that red/blue label, if so, can it come off. The Mrs won't take it with that on it ☹️

I've got two separate taps installed in my bathroom right now, think they are called pillar taps. How hard would it be to install this as a replacement?

I hate getting burnt or freezing my hands every time I use the loo. (edited)

You would need a new sink as well which would be the harder thing to replace.

Ordered one thanks. Although does seem to be about the right price for these

Any tips on getting my old waste out of my basin? It has all corroded already. Hope this one lasts longer? (edited)

This looks identical to the tap and waste I removed my my downstairs toilet yesterday.

One of the flexi’s on ours burst, causing a huge leek, water everywhere. Luckily we were at home and at a reasonable time when it happened. After inspection, the other flexi was on it last legs too, a lot of rust. The waste had also snapped in connection to the u-bend. Very poor quality in my opinion. I would guess this had been fitted around 3 years ago so not very old.

It was already fitted when we bought the house so can’t confirm if it’s the same set or not but from the images it’s pretty much identical. My advice would be to spend a little more for quality
