How easy is this to learn
    Spacemonkee78's avatar
Pretty easy, don't use too much pressure, learn the direction your hair grows in and use a decent brush and shaving soap. You'll save a fortune compared to disposable razors after the initial outlay.

Preparation is important. A hot ,wet towel on the face to open up the pores and soften the bristles, then a shaving brush with decent soap like Arko or others and really rub it in.
    Then moisturizer after the shave.
Get a decent razor and apply very little or no pressure.

The no pressure tip and decent soap was exactly my finding too. Just wish I’d took the plunge years ago. Really liking this neat little razor.

I'd be wary of the blades being dreadful, and the reviews seem to suggest it too?

Given you can get 100 Derby extra blades for £5 on Amazon just now (different razor strokes for different folks etc) I'd be inclined to look for a razor without bundled blades then either buy those, or buy an assortment of 20 packs if I was just moving over to de shaving.

I agree. For those just starting, a variety pack is a good idea to find out which blade works for your skin and technique.

Got these. It was a blood bath . Not for me

Agreed... Worth paying the extra for Gillette IMO, saves the facial scars and feeling like your face has had a fight with a wire brush.

Moving over to saftey razors in my 20s was easily the best money saving idea I've made. A better shave and you safe ALOT on razer heads.

Can't comment on this particular deal but believe me, you'll soon start seeing the benefit to your wallet.

But you'll never go back. Not that far off 'buy a lifetimes supply at this price'49501725-Q2QXd.jpg

Bought this kit from Amazon after my dollar shave handle failed - twice now! Wasn’t expecting much for my £11 but boy was I wrong. The handle has a nice looking design with a decent weight and a novel butterfly opening for blade loading/ unloading. Comes with 100 blades in 10x10 cassettes with a push down dispenser and a small slot at the back for safe storage and disposal of old blades.
I initially knicked myself first time around, but soon learned you really don’t need any pressure just rest on the skin and glide across stubble. Plenty of soap and warm water to rinse the blade.. easy.
I got around 4 shaves from the blade over a week. Think it would have done more but not interested in maxing out blades at these prices.
Also purchased 200 Derby razor blades on Amazon for a tenner… should last me three years plus I reckon.

A good buy I reckon shave is good and cheap. Goodbye to my dollar shave club and I’m quids in.

Ordered for the wife for Valentine's day, I just hope these are safe for warty faced people? (edited)

Fine. Better off with a Merkur Futur on setting 5 to avoid any nicks or cuts

I'd be wary of the blades, usually with DE you want to try a range of blades to find out what works for you before buying in bulk, but can't praise enough moving to DE as a money saver, I've ended up with an all stainless steel rockwell that will likely outlive me and use bulk bought feather blades, and even with the steep price of the razor body itself its so much cheaper than cartridge razors over a few years.

As for cutting yourself it really shouldn't happen regularly if you get the technique right but its a risk if you aren't used to the blade/razor/soap combo, only time I've done it in recent memory was when I switched soap to a thicker product and didn't notice it had clogged the razor head until it was too late.

I have sensitive skin and always got razor rash until I moved to safety razors. Much better shave, actually enjoyable and no more rash. I used one from 17 until i grew a beard

There is a Dorco 'womens' DE razor going for £3 on Prime. Same as the man's minus the case, although that's only £5. Reviews seem ok so going to try one.

Butterfly style opening for the blades, which I like. (edited)

Really impressed with it, good mild shave. Paired it with a Dorco Titan blade and for the money it's a steal.
