Just saw this on my PS5 dashboard. Says I can upgrade for free with no cost for my remaining 27 days. Worth noting I have never had Extra or Premium so this could be a factor in who they target.

If anyone knows if it's possible for me to add another 2 years of Essential, and then upgrade for free for a totaly of 2 years and 27 days please let me know!

EDIT: I just bought a 12 month sub from CDKEYS and it now says the upgrade is free for the remaining 392 days. I bought an additional 12 month sub and it now says 757 days. My next payment of £99.99 will be on 13/03/2025.

EDIT2: It seems that the upgrade doesn't work for Extra --> Premium. Just Essential --> Premium.

    Interesting, doubt they’d allow you to upgrade for 2+ years, might be something just for users who have less than 30 days left on their PSN to incentivise them to upgrade to Premium when it runs out. But just my guess!

    I have just tried it. I bought 2 years worth of Essential from CDKeys and it now says £0 for the remaining 757 days.

    Not working for me, I'm afraid, see my post below. I assume it's the same if you account wasn't set to auto renew? Will let you know if I get any offers on 19th or 20th Feb, once my subscription expires, but I'm not holding my breath tbh...

    I just subscribed to Essential as I got a new console and needed to transfer saves on the cloud. I was planning on canceling my auto-renew, but would it be worth waiting to see if this offer pops? or would it better to cancel it now?

    I had cancelled my auto renew a few days ago and got this offer today. I can't advise if it makes a difference, but that's how it happened for me.

    I've just tried it on PS4, can't get the offer. I have essential, which was due to auto-renew on 19/2. Premium upgrade still showing as £0.83 for the remaining 4 days, then £13.49 a month. I tried cancelling the auto-sub to see if that made a difference but it hasn't so far..I think I'll try letting it expire and see if I get any offers! Will keep you posted, PS4 owners!     Once it expired, the Premium upgrade was not offered as a deal - and neither were the others for that matter. I'm still unsubbed atm, seeing if anything comes up and deciding what to go for!....

    Just gave it a go, buying 2 years of essential hoping to get the same upgrade option and no, it recalculated everything back up to £70+

    Seems like Sony might have cracked down on this one. Added 12 months of ps plus then tried adding the premium trial and it just says an unidentified error occurred.

    I guess the idea is that you will stick with premium as you can't downgrade unless you let your subscription expire.

    I'm on the basic plan. I just checked on PS5 dashboard and it would cost around £6.70 to upgrade to extra for the remaining 75 days. There wasn't an option to upgrade to premium on that tab.

    I wonder... if I was to extend my basic sub for another 12 months, would that £6.70 upgrade go up loads since I'd then have 440 days remaining? (edited)

    A few days ago there was a 50% offer on Premium via the dashboard/email invite. That would pretty much work out the same as this offer. So it seems like offers are being targeted every few days... Maybe you can wait it out and see what happens?

    Wait for a deal mate. I personally didn't see that many games I was excited about. Later on this month they're adding Legend of Dragoon and I'm looking forward to that as I never played it on PS1 when it came out.

    Imo all depends on how interested you are in the games that are there. They don't seem to secure great titles on day one like Game Pass does.

    Worth it whilst on offer I would say, but consider carefully at full price.

    I have the option to Upgrade for £5.07 to Premium, because mine expired on the 25th March. My question is, if I buy a cd keys 12 months, will the deal still be £5.07 or will it recalculate to be the normal cost?

    Just tried this morning - added 2 years of Essential from CDkeys, and then tried to upgrade, but it says "Something went wrong". Had this error on PC, mobile app and also a similar error on PS5 itself.
    Has anyone had this issue, and managed to get around it?
