The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to most of them. When you’re not enjoying the parks, you’ve got two pools to relax by. We stayed in this hotel late November 2022 for two weeks. The weather was good enough to use the pools and they were lovely. Fresh towels put out everyday. One pool was warmer than the other. This hotel is easily good enough. The rooms were basic but fine. Microwave, fridge, safe for valuables, TV, two double beds, bathroom with bath/shower. Best of all the rooms had good noise isolation so we couldn't hear next door. The aircon was loud though and we had it set for 68 degrees (temperature outside was typically high 70's, low to mid 80's. We only used teh restaurant once for breakfast and it was fine. Rest of the time we ate out either at the theme parks (we got passes for Universal Studios (both), Disney Kingdom, Sea World, Discovery Cove (fantastic experience, very expensive if you don't know how to get discounts but the only park where food was included), Aquatica - which was brilliant for the kids although lockers (smallish were $20 dollars a day) and Bush Gardens in Tampa. The hotel location was excellent on International Drive - I think it was I-Ride stop 10. SeaWorld was about 27/28 (Sea world is excellent and we easily spent 3 days on different days there.). We bought I-Ride pass tickets for the two weeks we were there and used them for all the parks (except Bush Gardens, Universtal Studies, and Disney Kingdom) and trips up and down International Drive (unlimited travel and cheap). The cost of Uber for 4 from the Airport to the hotel by Uber was £29.33. The cost of Uber to Disney Kingdom (actually to the main drop off point where you could use either a Ferry or rail to Disney Kingdom - I preferred taking the Ferry) was £22.56 early in the morning so slightly more expensive than coming back. Bush Gardens we went by coach and Universal we got picked up at the hotel first come first serve. The Uber was cheaper than paying $15 per person to Disney and we could guarantee getting there early to avoid queues and traffic.

Forget the cost of transport when going to these parks, It's more important you get there early enough to avoid wasting a lot of time queing up to get through security or / and obtaining your online tickets. Some of the parks required proof of identity too. Aquatica was the quietest park and was really good for us as a family with a combination of water rides and swimming / paddling areas. Disney Kingdom was full of old style rides and entertainment with lots of animatronics - not my type of thing and busy even in December - tickets sell out for Disney parks so don't always think you can get them there. Universal is actually two parks and you'll neet to consider if you want to go to Universal which is more show based (although there are enough rides to keep kids entertained or, Adventure Island. We bought a day ticket which gave us access to both parks which are joined by the Hogwarts train ride. We could not fit everything in and it really needed two or more days to see everything. Bush Gardens was disapointing compared to the others - it didn't seem to know if it was theme park or safari park / zoo and ended up a mish mash. The coach ride was ok, but a bit boring for over an hr ride - Florida was surprisingly flat so there aren't really any views to enjoy. Discovery Cove was very expensive but the Dolphin Experience was amazing Luna was very accommadating. One tip, you pay the same price for the photo packages whether there's one, two or more people so try and buy a group ticket with others you know and order the package at one price for all of you - you get the photo's on CD and you are given access to a website you can also download them from for a year. Search around for deals for discovery cove as it can be very very expensive. It is the one place however where all food and drink was included. At the other parks you ended up being mainly limited to the same type of fast food over and over so the food got boring. Meals in the parks typically cost $10 - $15 dollars each. You could buy meal day passess with unlimted food and drink for about $49 each. You had to allow a certain amount of time before eating again though. It is possible to buy plastic cup containers and they typically give refills for $1 each and you can use them every time yoiu go to the park so they aren't limited to just that day. We bought one and shared it.

This hotels location as I said is excellent. We were about 25 mins I-Ride away from Sea World / Acquatica and about 25 mins coach from Universal. Uber drive to Disney was about 35 mins from memory. What we did for food was to shop at Wallmart on the first day there to buy enough food in for breakfasts - Wallmart was about 35 mins walk away which doesn't sound much but it is a long way in the heat. Then the rest of the time we used Wallgreens and bought bread, milk, orange juice, that type of thing. Food is much more expensive there. We asked the Uber Driver and he said typically along International Drive food was 25% more than elsewhere because it is a tourist trap. We also ate out at the Golden Coral (eat all you want - typically about $20 dollars each), the Chinese Buffet or Cisis which is eat all you want pizza type food for under $10. We did try the I-Hop too but felt that was over priced and over rated. Expect to pay tips on all food and save up coupons before hand and pay attention to when it's cheaper to eat - typically before 3.30pm so main meals in the afternoon make more sense unless at a theme park. There are shopping malls (more expenseive designer type places at either end of International Drive as well as "crazy golf" courses, tourist type shops for clothes and theme park items and other eating places.

My advice, plan your holiday before you travel and download the apps for each theme park. On the apps you can see where all the rides and shows are and importantly the current waiting times to access the rides. Like Alton Towers they operate a fast track system too for a premium and it is very frustrating watching lots of people zoom by you when you've queued up a long time. Fast track definitley is fast track and for the busy theme parks (Universal and Disney in our experience) plan the quietest days to use the parks. You don't want to spend all your time in queues.

Back to the hotel, the we stayed on Floor 6 in one of the blocks. The room looked in over one of the pools and there are no indoor corridors. You walk along open walkways and your door opens out straight on to these. If you walk around them you get good views at this height and even though there is heavy traffic around this area with highways etc it was quiet enough never to bother us. The only down side was the internet. The hotel internet speeds were very very slow. I'm glad I got one of the T-Mobile unlimited data (15 day sims) before flying and I had no trouble using it anywhere we went, including the hotel. Only a couple of times did I get spam texts and I simply blocked the numbers. I switched back to my own sim on the plane back to the UK. Last thing about the hotel, don't buy in to the games room. There is a room with a few arcade machines in, but it's only small and there's a TV room which you don't really need as you have a TV in your own room. There's also the restaurant area and they also have a weigh in room where you can check your luggage weight before flying back to the UK. This hotel is perfectly adequate as a good base. Excellent location, with perfectly acceptable rooms. Room service was every day.

Last tip, when people go home they often leave items they don't want in the laudary areas so check them out in the mornings for items of clothing or toasters etc or join the Facebook group. I was lucky. I went with someone who was excellent at finding bargains and negotiating deals and booking things either on line or by phone so kudos to them for helping make it a great holiday. I'd have no hesitation in going back to this hotel. It does what you need for a theme park hotel.

One word of warning. Be careful crossing roads. We always always used the crossings and we waited for the "white flashing man". International Drive crosses a few very busy highways and even though the lights can be flashing for pedestrians to cross, cars can still turn across you when turning from a certain direction even if their lights are red so keep your eyes open at all times when crossing roads. American drivers also seem to be far more impatient than in the UK and we aren't brilliant at it either! (edited)

I’ve just got back… it is so expensive! Eating out is at least 25% more expensive than the Uk… a box of 12 eggs is £6.45 … random I know but crazy pricing over there.

Inflation there is legit a lot worse despite the figures saying it isn't the grocery cost is absolutely nuts

Do they have any kind of shuttles to the Disney parks/springs or is it more of an Uber job?

I'm visiting in March. Any tips on saving on food costs please? I don't intend on eating at the parks for that reason. A good breakfast before somewhere, taking snacks and having a good meal on the evening on I-drive/buying groceries for the hotel. Thanks

Cici pizza over the road from here is $10 buffet. Golden corral is only walking distance too

We stayed in the Disney one with the giraffe etc eating outside, although I only saw it about twice.

If I went back I'd probably do the cheapest Disney one: you do get extra time in the parks and you do need it to try and see everything, but you don't have time to appreciate a nice hotel.

That hotel looks like the set of a murder film. Horrendous

Stayed here for a week, as others have said perfect base for the parks and International Drive.
Easy to get to/from the airport.
7/11, within walking distance and the mickey mouse breakfast waffles are great for the kids and the bigger kids!

If you aren't going to be in the hotel this place is absolutely fine. Got good air con, rooms cleaned daily and a pool to cool down in

Ive stayed here multiple times, I would relate it to a premier inn / travelodge. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean. In terms of a base for you in Florida it is a fine budget thing.

For all of those saying its a state, when I stayed here as a child I didnt remember how lackluster the hotel was, I remember the pool and feeling lucky enough to even be there.

For some people, this might be their only option and its a good one if it is.
  12. Mctasney_16's avatar
Love all the comments about the location and accommodation. Some families save for years to try get to take their children to Florida. The hotel is clean and basic, close to all parks. Others on the comments sections are from those who expect 5* for the same price and/or live above other people’s expectations.

Stayed here the last 2 times we went to Florida and I can assure you that whilst a little basic it is spot on. The rooms are decent, air con cold and pool warm. Absolutely perfect for the parks. Disney springs approx $10 by uber, before covid, less to the outlet and 10 minds walk away from numerous restaurants. Can't comment on cost out there atm but excellent price for 2 weeks imo. Heat

nasty cheap hotels that stink of tobacco but looks a cheap deal really for the flights, I liken I drive to Benidorm lol.
as above Florida is not a cheap place to go anymore especially with the pound dollar, we go ever year but have a villa so save on that.
we didn't get over during the lockdown obviously but finally got back last year twice and couldn't believe the cost rise on everything from the supermarket shop to the price of fuel in the car, the shopping outlets aren't as bargain as they used to be in fact we found quite a few things to be cheaper going to Cheshire oaks over here, the parks have steadily gotten more and more expensive from the parking to the tickets.
all that said we still love it there but will be taking a few years out, maybe one day we'll get back to the 2 dollar odd to the pound or we can wish at least lol
    steveieboy1's avatar
Nice, where abouts is the villa? Sadly we won’t get to 2:1 and it’s forecast to get worse than it currently is at.

I stayed here last June and it was absolutely fine. The breakfast was good, and rooms were cleaned every day, with great air con. It's not luxurious, no, but we were out doing something every day so weren't really there much apart from an evening and breakfast.

Great location, loads of great bars and restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk. Recommend Longhorn Steakhouse, best steak I've had.

Universal is a few minutes in an uber, Disney ie Disneyland, Epcot, Animal Kingdom is about 20 mins in an uber, and costs around 15 to 20 quid a ride.

Yes, it is expensive out there, drink more so than eating out. You'll struggle to find a good pint under a tenner. However, you don't go to Florida to scrimp and save imo, suck it up!

Thanks Just looked at June as well and coming up as 1,750 for 2 adults 1 child for 2 weeks which is a great price

Add price of a car and park tickets and parking etc. It soon adds up.

Good price though for flight and what i have heared is not a terrible hotel

After pricing we are looking to stay in a low end disney hotel (all stars) the park tickets depending on parks 900 each 30 per day parking
    vod's avatar
    Parking is currently

    $25 Disney
    $27 Universal

$800 for 16 days for a Chevy Suburban that can seat 7 and luggage (it’s a beast!).

Can get smaller car cheaper. (edited)
  18. toonsquirel's avatar
What a deal, anyone wanting the parks though add £4k plus another £2k for food etc and £1k for car hire, if your not bothered about the parks this will be a great cheap holiday but with parks it’s still gonna be loads more.

Bro what. Pretty sure I can do a month tour for europe comfortably at this price.

How do you get Disney land tickets for cheap please??

If there is an answer to this, I will be eagerly listening. Unfortunately all the parks are expensive as anything

Would like to know what people are expecting for that kind of money in Florida!! Fine it doesn't look nice but my kids would love it regardless. Would definitely be tempted if my wife wasn't a teacher

Looks great deal if you can take kids out of school etc

Stayed in a similar hotel once, did find it difficult with showering and bed time as kids went to bed earlier so couldn’t watch Tv or anything. Since that first holiday we’ve paid a bit more for a villa, considered a small suite for our next trip as it’s cheaper than a villa.
  27. echo06's avatar
I would say don't bother because Tui are horrendous and have got worse the last year or so. Wouldn't be surprised if the UK arm of the business folds in the not too distant future.
    Ben_Tomenson's avatar
We went to this hotel in September and it was fine. The tui flights to Melbourne work really well tbh
  28. m1kehunt's avatar
This is no doubt this is cheap on the face of it (heat added) but once you've added in food/theme parks/car it's going to be very expensive which is a real shame. I miss US holidays, used to dirt cheap when £1=$2 and could get a villa with swimming pool at low cost.

We're now looking for a week (maybe 10 days) in Dubai but even that's gone crazy on prices (been looking everywhere so waiting for the HUKD superstars to save the day!)
    steveieboy1's avatar
That was 2008 and I noticed it getting more expensive around 2015. My friend goes to Dubai twice a year and moans at how much it’s gone up. Everywhere is more expensive because of inflation and a weak pound.
  29. Steve_BrownWp2's avatar
As mentioned we went as a group of 5 last June, parks already paid for. The cost of food is astronomical even factoring in if you went for free with free car rental and free park tickets you will still spend an absolute fortune.

If your doing sea world or busch Gardens the all day dining is good value. Get there at opening for breakfast, and have dinner just b4 the park closes. £43 per adult

We had this in October as it was bundled for free with the tickets. Really good offer considering the cost of food out there now

Stayed here last year it wasn’t that bad to be honest for the price plus your right next door to McDonald’s which helped a lot too
