No pattern other than when there are low cost independents nearby the supermarket price crashes

gov and media should be all over the supermarkets for ripping people off as there is only one wholesale price of petrol

Why my local Sainsbury's still £1.49

Honestly seems like it's going to be stuck at 1.49 forever, doesn't seem to be budging.

Good thing is instead of driving to the big supermarket for big shop once a week 6 miles away I've been walking 2 miles there and 2 miles back every other day to a smaller Lidl nearby. They can shove these petrol prices up their rear end.

Anyone else noticed that since Asda was sold to the guys that own all BP stations and Morrisons was sold to the Americans- we never get competitive fuel ? Just me?

Blatant profiteering by the petrol stations. Following the lead from gas and electric who increased prices threefold then announce profits have trebled. Whole country is now rotten to the core.

I always try & fill up in Denton, Ashton, Stockport etc on the east side when in Manchester. Tesco & Sainsburys seem to always have long queues because they're always a decent amount cheaper than the rest of the UK for some odd reason. Even the rest of Manchester.
Do they get government subsidy or something?
    Not complaining.

P.s. 149.7p (petrol) and 164.7p (diesel) are my local prices at Asda.

The more people who fill up elsewhere the more they'll lower prices to entice people back.

Sorry to hear that. Essar Grindley Brook - Whitchurch is 20 miles from me and they have Diesel verified at 150.9p today. 5 miles away it's 155.9p. Lot of rip off prices in the UK.

How are the supermarket prices around certain areas of Manchester always a lot cheaper than the others from the same company?? I always thought they should be same or very close to. Tesco. Sainsburys, Morrisons near me in Lancs/areas of Greater Manchester are about 5-10 pence more expensive!!!

    The rip off continues.

They lower it at one store because they know it will get ridiculous heat on here and loads of people will go to their local store to see if they've reduced the price. Cheapest marketing they can get and yet people on here still upvote it.

All those running forecourts take us motorists for complete muppets. Drove past two Morrisons yesterday, approx 5 miles apart. One was £1.64.7 and the other £169.9...go figure

Costco Gateshead is still the cheapest for me at the moment, but they are actually putting their prices up. A week ago I paid 137.9p and yesterday it was 140.9 (petrol, non-premium). Actually a disgrace really that they are going up when the price of fuel is going down for them.
