    I would like to point out the stock checker on the app can be inaccurate, I went to my local to try and get one of the Switch games that was listed as in stock and there wasn't a single copy (it's still listed as in stock on the app even now).

    Probably a single copy down the back of a shelf in the storeroom or someone put it through on an incorrect sku months ago and the system is out by 1.

    Stockcheckers are useful but not infallible.

    Very specific stores get rid of very specific stock all the time. This is one example. They will not have any left, and if you try a different Tesco store they will be selling them at full price. Store specific reductions only exist due to changes in the stock they hold and to clear space. Something like this would probably never even reach the shop floor, or would be picked up by a relative of an employee. It would not go unnoticed.

    Oh go on - it's worth a look...just incase. Since you're out there anyhow why not try the next few stores just incase. It was only the desperation of the last one that brightened up my whole week. I would love to read the same exasperated posts again

    I'd believe the app more than the staff. Having had friends work in a Tesco, its not surprising for staff to put things to a side and even scan them just to remove from the app

    Showed a regular one available in longeaton. I just went and found 3 other hotuk dealers as well. The staff said they had non in stock for the past couple of weeks. Waste of journey

    Can't believe how many users here think there's a big conspiracy about tesco workers putting stock aside or lying about stock counts. For starters that's a sackable offense as it hurts the business. Not to mention most stores don't have anybody on stock control so stock counts are often done several weeks apart. If the staff member says there's no stock then grow up and walk away.

    Trust me, it happens. They set it aside or get someone else buy it for them. I dont blame them tho, if i worked there i would do the same thing. A perk of the job having inside knowledge when its on sale before anyone else means you get first dibs. And how does it hurt business if the employees use their own money to buy it. People will go on a goose chase regardless and end up buying things while they are there so not to completely waste the journey.
