If you want to achieve stripes on your lawn without roller you can cut the grass to desired length. Ideally 5-7cm and then lower the mower all the way down to the shortest setting and with mower turned off just push it along your lawn. One stripe into one direction and the next one the opposite and so on. It works

If you can stretch it I would go for the 36v version (2xbatteries) which I have.

Great machine and does a big lawn with one set of batteries . I would think the 18v version wouldn't last too long before needing the batteries swapped out

I’ve also got the 2x18v version and it’s great. I’d never go back to corded.

Unless I'm missing something, the bundle I mentioned above including this mower, is now reduced to £200.88, so for just +£68 you're getting a fast charger and 2x 5ah battery (1 via spring redemption)

Both score 12 in Scrabble, but get that K on a triple letter square and it's a game changer

It's available as a bundle with a battery and charger here for £209
    ebay.co.uk/itm…921

The above should be applicable for a free extra battery or tool via the Makita spring redemption offer

Personally I'd recommend the 36V models which can claim 2 free batteries

How would this mower compare to a bosch?
    Kopter's avatar
It would be really rubbish with Bosch batteries

I'm not sure this is brushless

    The makita doesn’t mention it

I think this has expired now, but I'm on the hunt for a decent lawnmower - I take it the 2 x 18V ones are much more powerful?

I can't compare but I own the DLM432 which is 2x18V and a larger 43cm cut. It copes well with my medium size lawn but I mow regularly to keep on top of it.
