    When Nintendo posts their's we'll know The japanese nintendo store 14500yen price is £90. I think everyone else is scalping. (edited)

    Check the actual sales of the BOTW LE.

    Smyths now showing £110, so yeah, looks like they mispriced it.

    Think I might pass on this collector's edition, at least for now. If it goes the same way as other recent Nintendo special editions that aren't Xenoblade, then it'll probably be bought en masse by braindead scalpers and will be cheaper to buy post-launch than to pre-order.

    I think it will go up and down, then back up again. It will be similar to the Zelda Links awakening LE, where they had huge stock but more and more new Switch owners will want them and once they are out of print they gain value

    Electric Games have the base game at £44.99 on pre-order until the end of Feb, then it goes up to £49.99 but I'm not sure about the Co. seems they have some good reviews on Trustpilot but bad on their FB page and mention of Trustpilot reviews being flagged/pulled. Also they don't say whether it's payment on order or despatch?

    I've just recieved the same email.

    Says "Great news! We have reduced the price of your pre-/backorder!" but then says no items and when I checked my account my pre-order is gone without a trace

    It's not worth £120 considering what you get but, as we all know, Nintendo can charge a ridiculous amount as they create a stock shortage by not manufacturing enough copies and all of a sudden the inflated RRP becomes a great deal. If this was as readily available as an Xbox or PlayStation collector's edition, no one would be in a rush to buy. But the sad thing is £120 is likely to be a bargain in years to come so I'm not voting either way (edited)

    CEs have really gone downhill over the last few years too; just throw in a flimsy artbook people will flick through for 5 minutes and a cheap steelbook and call it a "collector's edition" so you can charge a stupid price for it. (edited)

    I love Zelda but there is no way I'm paying £120 for this edition. What you get for the money is absolutely rubbish value and I say that usually being a fan of art books.

    Well done Nintendo I suppose as they know people will lap it up at any price. They are a business after all and I think some fans forget that they don't do anything for us out of kindness.

    Haha yep, everyone's set their expectations too high based off of that Smyth's Toys misprice. This is probably just the MSRP.

    It's $129.99 in US so the £89.99 UK price at Smyths was a mis-price so expect orders to be cancelled.

    Possibly not. Admittedly not Smyths, but I've ordered from retailers in the past (Currys) taking advantage of pricing errors (Metroid Dread pre-order for £27) and had the order fulfilled.

    First time I’ve ever been glad to miss the ‘drop’ of a special edition.

    I usually always buy the special edition on Nintendo games when there is one.  However, the price on this is just bonkers to me.  £100+.  Madness!
