At this price level I personally would expect 16 ram

This model was released in 2021 when it was common to ship mid range laptops with 8gb ram, 2022 and newer model comes with 16gb minimum. It is a shame manufacturers wont just install 16 initally.

I had to laugh at that too as they've only recently introduced the delivery fee. You spend all that money on an appliance with them and they can no longer do free delivery

The display is basically a cabbage.

    1080p @ 120Hz and 250 nits brightness? Yuck. (edited)

RTX3060 laptops seems to be going up rather than down in price since RTX4000 models were launched. This is probably the best deal on a 3060 Legion 5 at the moment, though I think there was one at £799.99 on box a few weeks ago.

As for the comments criticising the screen or RAM... I'd love to see a better 3060 laptop at this price.

At least the RAM is upgradeable rather than soldered

Exactly, nvidia 40 series laptops are extremely high price leaving the 30 series at the same price as last year and climbing. For now I would wait for winter this year for a decent deal on a laptop.

Why does it have 8gb of ram? Like that would be very very painful to run with

High price for what you get, RAM can be easily upgraded, the issue is the 250nits screen (edited)

i would not call that a clearance price. You were able to pick them up from VERY last year for less then £700.00 with a voucher.

Lenovo were selling these refurbished on ebay for £680 a week or so ago. It may be worth keeping an eye out on ebay if you are in the market for these.

Not really a deal imo, this should be the standard price for a laptop with these specs. Personally I wouldn't pay over £700 for this. (edited)

I love the Legion lineup. Great quality laptops with good thermals, but that screen isn't great.

I think this is much better value

There's a version available from box or ebuyer for £899 which I picked up a couple of weeks ago which I think is slightly better value than this - DDR5, 12th gen i5, 165hz 1440p screen:

    • Intel Core i5-12500H 12 Core Processor
    • 15.6" WQHD Screen
    • Microsoft Windows 11 Home
    • 8GB DDR5 RAM
    • 512GB SSD M.2 NVMe SSD
    • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Graphics
    • Thunderbolt 4 | USB Type-C | HDMI | Ethernet | Bluetooth | Wi-Fi 6E

I have the 3070ti legion 5 pro - it cost just over 1k 12 months ago so I dont think this is a great price to be honest. If i had my choice again I wouldnt have bothered, its heavy and the battery life is pants - more a desktop with a battery than a laptop - battery lasts under 2 hours and you can only use it in performance mode when its plugged in.
