In Europe, incidence of malabsorption is much lower and in the U.K. it’s estimated intolerance is around 10% because milk is such an important part of our diets compared to other regions. An example of relatively modern convergent evolution.
This study suggests small amounts of lactose are well tolerated by adults raising the question of how necessary lactose-free products or even very strict lactose-free diets are for some people. Of course this is dependant on the individual and YMMV but I found it interesting
Works okay-fine for frosting cakes.
Personally I don't see the point in using it on toast when you've got loads of different margarines to choose from and they will be less messy too. Essentially, this is margarine, albeit in a sturdy block form thanks to the added bean protein and (extra) processing (edited)
