Cheapest I think I've seen this new model! Only catch is it requires an executive membership to claim the offer, but still worth it even if you had to buy the membership just for this IMO

    Pretty damn expensive
    bargainBeast's avatar
Do you have a cheaper price for one? This is actually the cheapest you will find this macbook. If you look at the performance comparisons, you won't find anything cheaper.

Is this still available? As I don't have a membership yet I can't see if there's stock or not, but it does seem like it's still available

As of now (1530 on 07/04) yes I can see that the offer is still valid and both colours are still in stock and can be added to cart

Unless this metal box is your tool to earn a big buck (my case), I just cant see the point, as in hands of an ordinary user the waste of hardware resources would equal to approximately 99.99%. (edited)
    rageruffle's avatar
by your same logic, most of the things people buy are wastes of resources... I mean sure we could all live under rocks watching beetles fight

I work for Intel and despise apple, but their M silicone is groundbreaking you just can't hate it

Always been an anti-apple hater for no reason. I have the 2021 version, fell in love with it and now have an iphone too... oops.

As portable device M2 Pro yes it is very good laptop with good battery life ,,
But not everything with apple is perfect if equipment is not buy apple
I have lot of apple equipment and when they apple they they work Now try to buy monitor for your new M2 Pro laptop you will see how much issues you will have "scaling text " etc . Yes there an apple studio display but price for 5k none HDR display is £1500
Same with none apple equipment mouse, keyboard etc .

Do not need to READ bellow "it is my experience with apple OS "

Be prepared to buy new MAC maybe each say 3-5 Years for newer or you will be left with OLD OS
For me not hardware is the biggest issue but apple OS system update each year . " I see this as programmed device slowdown / force to buy new "

They introduce couple new features in new OS each year and it is become new OS + developers need to adopt to new OS as well if they do not patch they app to new OS the software can work with issues or not work at all or not install

Now you can say what's the problem update latter when developer patch they software to new OS and do not use new OS wait for couple updates YES it is true but if I DO NOT want to update each year to they new OS because my PC become slower with they new OS then after 2 year your OLD OS become not updates anymore "not supported by apple for security patches "

So you have laptop with no more security updates same "S" will come with apple silicon as new more quicker chip released your old M1 will be harder to work with new OS each year

They point is you can have 10 Year old Windows 10 Laptop and it is till will be working and Windows will be releasing security updates + the software old or new will be ok to run do not need to ask developer to patch or maybe developer do not exist but software still works

This what I did not realise with apple how easy they can force user to upgrade to new MAC

wow, ok thats good information. If i'm spending this kind of money it HAS to last me at least 10 years! my windows laptops all last me 10 years (at a fraction of the cost). I was just about to order this but I think I need to research the lifespan now! Can't justify spending such a premium for it to only last a few years!!

I know tech changes, but i'm still using my 18 year old Asus windows laptop for basic browsing and basic task (office etc.).... this machine will need to see me through atleast 10 years!

All sold out now!! that was quick. I managed to get the 16inch m1 (1tb) from costco when it briefly came back in stick for the same price as this which was perfect for me!! Good luck to all those who managed to bag this deal!

Anyone that got this deal - are you planning on getting applecare+ or has anyone got it? Trying to work out if its worth getting
    dsutton21's avatar
I got the deal, not sure if it’s worth it for AppleCare, did look into it tho although I’ve got many Apple devices and never bought before..will wait and see for other people’s input

Individual Executive Membership New Signup - £74.40
In total 1,814.38 for new executive membership (edited)
    davidg_croydon's avatar
Almost... Executive members get 2% cash back so, you'd need to factor that in as well, so £30 back. Depends on your total spend obviously, but we get back more in cash back than our membership and we get to go in the warehouses before it gets really busy. It's fantastic.
  11. bargainBeast's avatar
I really can't decide between this and the 16 inch... If this had 1tb Hdd it would make the decision easier...
    2StepSteve's avatar
Depends how often you will travel with it. The 16" is quite a bit heavier.

Just ordered a MBP 16 Max 32GB and 2TB HD. Unfortunately very few places sell the extra HD configs so had the pay good money. Can’t wait for it to arrive, wish I only needed a 1TB and options would have been more available. Great deal this.
    bargainBeast's avatar
this is only the 512gb version - wish this was the 1TB option, would have snapped it straight up! 512gb is really small with todays data needs. by the time you have installed the software, OS and basic files most your space is gone. Basically you will have to get an external hdd with this to do anything.

Do you need to go to a Costco to get the executive membership verified?
    sam1234567890's avatar
yes, you will have to visit a Costco warehouse for them to check your documents. It would be quicker to pop into store and register there than doing it online and then visiting store.

If you register at warehouse then you will get a Costco card (with number) instantly and then you can use that to register online and shop instantly.

If you do it online they ask you to wait for 1-2 days at the least so that the online registration syncs up to their warehouse system (and then you have to go to store to show your documentation and get it verified) (edited)
  14. stneville1's avatar
No just add the card to your online account.
