If these pay out, even better... may be wise to only cancel close to the end of the 1st month?

Wish this was back at the £200 price point that it was a while ago. Sigh.

It almost certainly will be again if you can afford to wait. More than once Currys have discounted the phone to £299 then given £100 trade-in for any old phone so keep an eye on their website (and make sure you've got a working old phone you can trade in).

Those that haven't try a Pixel before look at the button placement (power is right up and volum at middle of phone)and the screen is quite narrow (good thing for grip but it takes while when looking for something that is down at the bottom of page)
Is dual dual SIM but only one is for proper SIM and other one is E-SIM.

The biggest problem for me was the earphone speaker, very poor and added to that it was very directional, when receiving a call I was forever moving it about against my ear till I could get a decent volume. Nice phone though bit for me I went back to my other phone that had no problems with speaker volume.

Just got off webchat with tesco mobile. Had the phone in the basket as above but just wanted to be sure that I could cancel at any time as a 1 month contract would imply. Here's what (after 30 minutes of faff) they finally said:
I am sorry but in this case please be informed that the phone contract you have chosen is for 36 months contract term for phone contract and the one month rolling contract means that once the contract term is over then you will be able to cancel or upgrade the contract free of cost and if you do not cancel or upgrade the contract then you will be getting same allowances every month and you will be paying same usage contract charges on your contract plus the CPI charges now.

Interesting lie for them to tell. Pretty sure OFCOM would love to hear about it.

I also talked to Tesco about cancelling the SIM contract after a month and was told no problem but as the phone/ SIM contracts were linked I'd have to pay the phone part off in one go (£230 ish) but nothing more to pay on the SIM contract as it's a monthly rolling plan ,

I’d be careful with this. I recall a few people saying in previous deals that they tried to do the ‘o2 Refresh trick’ with Tesco Mobile’s clubcard prices to get a phone for cheaper and then cancel. A month later they got a final bill invoicing them for the full value of the phone.

Trying to find said comments and will link here if I can.

Yes I was one of them, finally got my money refunded when I contacted the CEO of Tesco.
Had a few sleepless nights ..

Wow! Totally different to my experience except for the Bluetooth thing.

How easy is it to cancel the 1 month contract after?

    By calling them... tescomobile.com/hel…ned

Just web chatted to Tesco, sim cancelled and 233 left to pay in 2 weeks, easy peasy
    Stoobacca's avatar
Good news! I'm looking to pick one up tomorrow. Did you cancel within the cooling off period/did you get a full refund on the SIM and keep the handset?

    Cheers

Very much enjoying my pixel 6a, after having accidentally smashed my pixel 6 pro to bits. Easy to use with one hand. Lighter, smaller and functions great.

As someone in a similar situation after losing a 6 pro, this is what I want to see

Didn't like my 6a and got rid within 3 months, but this seems a great price

    Why not?

I know, if I hadn't bought my 256GB OnePlus Nord 2T (at £369), I would have been tempted myself.  I'm already on Tesco Mobile anyway (I would have changed to a better sim-only deal after the 1 month).

I went in store to see if I could get this and was told no that's not correct. They wouldn't be able to offer the same as indeed it should be on a 36 month contract.

I've placed and order online now and my contract and order clearly states it's a 1 month contract so if they do send out the phone they're accepting what I paid for.
I'll be cancelled the direct debit they created the minute it hits my Monzo account.

Tesco has been robbing me for years it's about time the table was turned

Did you tell them about the offer you saw on their site?  Sounds to me like the sales assistant didn't know about the offer.

After seeing the possibility of installing Graphene OS I thought I would get a Pixel phone! After narrowly missing out on various Pixel offerings I was hoping to get a Pixel 6a for under £200 but after reading on here some people being unhappy with the 6a I’m wondering whether to look for a different model! Maybe more expensive than the 6a such as 6, 6 pro! 7 etc or going for a cheaper used handset such as 5, 4XL etc!? I’m wondering what other people’s opinions would be!? Thanks in advance.

If you proceed to the checkout with one of the relevant plans, it will show 1 month (on the next page).

It seems that they are just trying to bully people into paying for their own mistake in advertising a phone with a one month contract at that price.

Great deal. Looks like it would work out as planned, despite the suggested concerns re other similar early cancellation issues. I’ve been with Tesco mobile for years and they’re very decent to deal with. Would recommend.
I only went away from them to o2 last year as they were cheaper (though will move again as since then the service/coverage has been less useful, probably due to congestion of their system since merging with virgin, for where I live and use it). All that said I’d use Tesco mobile again but for the fact they use o2

I know, I would have probably gone for this, as I am on Tesco Mobile. But I only bought my OnePlus Nord 2T about 4 months ago. (edited)

I'm getting the 7 pro delivered today. Never had a Pixel phone so hope I get on with it. Reviews seem pretty decent.
  18. mathgeek's avatar
Perhaps a silly question, but could someone please let me know if this would be unlocked to all SIM cards or only usable if one has a Tesco SIM?
    Wayne_Hardy's avatar
No such thing as a silly question!

Thanks to Ofcom, all phones these days have to be unlocked. It's been this way for a few years now.

These are constantly on sale now so I think I'm gonna wait until it hits £199 somewhere on sale, its gonna happen.
    TheChamp's avatar
I missed the Vodafone deal a month or so back, but confident it will be back at £199 in the next few months.

Honestly id go for the 7 deal over this if ID is good for you, getting a better phone, free pro headphones and 200 Cashback / trade-in ... You'll end up spending more on this phone when you add your 2 year contract
    Giwin's avatar
Could you link to the £200 cashback deal?

An iPhone 13 is significantly better than this.

Unless you want a cheap way in to Android, there would be no reason to switch to this whatsoever.
