    So what's the catch?

I believe hdmi.org did away with hdmi 2.0 ratification so anything certified now is hdmi 2.1. and since practically everything is optional in the spec it means just saying hdmi 2.1 is meaningless for example what we would have labelled hdmi 2.0 ports run at 18Gbs but now they would be labelled hdmi 2.1 and somewhere in microdot writing will be 18Gbs.

At a guess I would say it's 4k using 10bit 4:2:0 chroma subsampling which only needs a 24Gbs hdmi port and maybe using an 8bit+2frc panel to simulate 10bit.

If true in it's defense there are several 4k hdmi 2.1 monitors that have been out a year or so and have similar spec but I guess time has reduced costs so that less main stream brands can bring them to the market and not attempt to command the prices others are still trying to do (edited)

It will be ok for PC gaming yes. There's far better monitors especially if you want HDR gaming.

Buyer beware. These electriq panels aren't quality products. I have been through 3 warranty replacements of the same 27inch monitor. The last time they didn't have any stock to replace so needed to give me money back still within warranty, they wanted to offer me a voucher which I refused. Then they wanted to impose a 15% usage fee on the monitor and deduct that off of my refund . Dirty tactics by laptops directs. I'd keep away altogether, these units are cheap for a reason and if your dropping this kind of money drop it on a well known brand who aren't waiting for you to drop the soap

I'm not familiar with this monitor but it will be cutting corners *somewhere*.

Could be a good option but I recommend checking lots of reviews to find the catch or catches.

I looked at this monitor for a multi-monitor setup but was put off by the fact that the monitor has a fan in it as it has the power supply in the monitor. Not sure if it is going to be a problem but made me decide against it

Here is a link to the user manual:
    electriq.co.uk/fil…pdf

I can't see anything useful in determining if true hdmi 2.1 but there are a couple of posts on Reddit stating problems with not being able to select VRR on PS5.

    Shouldn't be £5.99 delivery added?

Lol I ordered this three months ago and its only just arrived. When it goes oos it takes ages to arrive and they will not cancel your order. Its not great but works fine as a second monitor.
