The novelty wears off pretty quickly. There's only so much pizza a man can eat before getting bored of fancy cheese on toast
    SuffolkLad222's avatar
I disagree. I bought a Gozney Roccbox in lockdown and the magic of cooking a pizza in about a minute never wears off. We also cook other things such as steak, fajitas, fish etc. in it.

    Which one ? :/

I have the Koda 12 and it’s great, but the problem has always been living in the UK and this horrible weather. I think it might be worth getting the Volt at this stage seeing as you can cook indoors. Just not sure you’ll get the same taste as a proper fire from gas/wood.
    nadnerb's avatar
The flavour comes from the char which comes from the high temperatures.
Pizzas cooked with gas, wood or electric will all taste pretty much the same.
  4. DJ8's avatar
Had one for 7 years, hardly use the thing, too much of a faff. It's currently rusting away in the garage.
    thevman2k3's avatar
Thats a nice comment. You going to buy another?
  5. m19add's avatar
Hi, I have now ordered the Koda 12, quick question do I need to also buy a gas valve / regulator? Or does it come with everything needed ( apart from the gas) thanks (edited)
    meanredspider's avatar
An IR thermometer gun is a must. You can buy Ooni’s or a generic one - you need the stone to be 400-450C. Facebook has some really great Ooni communities that will help you on your journey

Not guaranteed, but worth a chance signing up to the mylakeland club, used to get 10%/20% discount vouchers through the post relatively quickly if this deal hangs around and discounts stack

Any student beans code would be much appreciated. Hoping to have BBQ + Pizza house warming for the grand kids.

Just an opinion, but it comes from having owned an Ooni Koda. There are much better options out there. My personal choice is a PizzaParty Ardore (small) or Emozione (large) with the clay stone (biscotto). Don’t trust this comment though - go and look them up on pizzamaking forum and you’ll see they are well reviewed. I hope this helps someone!

Any links as to where they can be purchased?

My order from 20th has been dispatch with FedEx, so hopefully everyone else should be getting their emails soon.

If you haven't already, vote hot for this thread please

Good to know! My Koda 16 order (21st AM) is sitting at ‘in warehouse’ so hopefully be dispatched today.

Karu 16 coming today, can't wait, can u start cooking straight away or do you have to do some kind of heat cycle with the stone?
    robocop999's avatar
    Author
Manual should say, but I think you have to run on high heat for 30 mins to burn off manufacturing smell/etc.
  14. magicmagicj's avatar
Still waiting for them carry cases to go on offer.

Try the non Ooni ones on Amazon. Just as good.
  15. Luvdeals's avatar
Anyone got any tips/offers on cheapest places to purchase gas units for this? Much appreciated 🙏
    RYAN_GARLAND's avatar
You can sometimes get them for free at the local tip or if you ask on gumtree or a Facebook freecycle group for your area

    Ooni?

There's not a pandemic on anymore love........why buy new when Facebook marketplace is full of them going for peanuts?
    robocop999's avatar
    Author
That's not true though. They aren't going for peanuts...especially not the gas ones.

You must be looking at the non ooni ones, which are sub standard
  17. robbp's avatar
Gas or wood? use charcoal for a BBQ and thats fine. Is it harder with the wood pellets
    Adamos_'s avatar
I went with gas, spoke to a few people and the people who had wood pellets all said it was a bit fiddly, gas is so simple.

I’ve a Koda 12 that I use in the paddock at car races. No one can get over how good the pizza is that it makes. Dough is incredibly cheap to make (7 pizzas from 1kg of flour plus water, salt and a few grammes of dried yeast) and the pizzas are better than anything from the big chains - so fresh. I never get bored of that taste
  19. frighteningmcmean's avatar
Thanks. Been looking at these for a few weeks, ordered for our wedding anniversary present.

Better than handing her a frying pan as an anniversary present I suppose

Awww man. Had my eyes on the Volt but was waiting til Black Friday. They’re going to make me spend my money now(lol)
    wdh's avatar
The Volt is pretty enormous externally, but internally about the same as the “12” outdoor ovens.
And it doesn’t have the internal height to be able to replace a normal oven.
  21. ZeeStar's avatar
Ordered the Volt last night. Got the 20% off plus the 15% student beans and the £10 off blue light code. It would’ve been rude not to!
    wdh's avatar
    Student nurse, eh?
  22. wdh's avatar
Apart from stacking codes, there’s no rush for existing Ooni owners looking to upgrade.
There’s a factory 20% available via their Upgrade Programme uk.ooni.com/pag…mme
    lucifon's avatar
Is there a discussion area for people willing to share a 20% upgrade coupon??

I have a Fyra 12. Was a good challenge to get it working. If you want plug and play / easy pizza this is not for you. You get out of it in terms of flavour what you put in in terms of effort. Seems a good deal. (edited)
    asc91's avatar
Yeah a bit tricky at first, but once you get it, it's very easy.
  25. Phil_Blake's avatar
I think pizza ovens are as idiosyncratic as music taste.
I genuinely can't imagine how my Ooni a Koda 16 could be better (a flip top for cleaning?).
Better than restaurant quality pizzas in 20 minutes from starting the gas to the first trip pizzas being ready.
Really don't think you can ask much more of that, but some people can't stand them!

I've been given a SB code but get the error message that it is not active.

    Maybe it's been switched off.
  28. jomckeo's avatar
I bought £320 worth of evouchers with student discount 15% which works on vouchers and then bought the Ooni gear I wanted. Didn't think it would work but worked fine. Saved me an additional £50 (edited)
    tomoverton's avatar
That's brilliant. Can you buy evouchers with evouchers? Do that 15 times and you'd get it for a fiver!
  29. Andrew_McC94's avatar
I tried using a student discount code and it wouldn’t work. Spoke to the online chat at Lakeland and they’ve suspended certain codes because people keep sharing them online

  34. C0mbat's avatar
I would have been all over this had I not heard about the new Witt ETNA pizza ovens today. The T3 review is making me think I need to spend the extra money for the added feature of a rotating stone and the gas burner underneath.
    robocop999's avatar
    Author
    Ooh...that thing is a beauty!

I've seen soke genuis has made an Ooni hack to retrofit a rotating base...but it involves drilling in to the oven, voiding warranty

  39. tommc's avatar
If anybody could DM me a code too that would be amazing. Thank you. Been dying for one for ages.
  40. Darren_King's avatar
These are still too expensive £400 for a Koda 16 too rich for me for what it is. Although they never seem to drop more than 20% and you can't stack offers.
    daearegwr's avatar
The codes mentioned above stack making the Koda 16 £329.32
