Display seems awful to read. Nice to have in a collection but for daily wear, wouldn't think so.

my worse Casio purchase of this year, when I got it a few months ago. The standard display is so much better. Think I am going to strip this down and as it as a second display like worn in Aliens.

bought this earlier in the year, was the worst Casio purchase ever, literally the display can not be seen in most positions/angles. Would only recommend for serious collectors, I have the pacman and back to the future watch and both of those are better purchases.

These are not to be confused with the original databank watches. These are a "modern" cut down version with just the calc.
I had the original databank & this seems a poor imitation to pull on the nostalgia heart strings.
    BeefyMcWhatNow's avatar
not accurate, the original 80s ca53w labelled as a databank wasn't even a databank, it is functionally identical to this and was sold along side the more feature rich databanks, the only downside to this modern version is the negative display

A timeless beauty that tells the time.

Oh the nostalgia. This took me back many many years. You could say this was the first smart watch. Going to order this now.

Back to 1990 prices as well

This was my first watch as a kid and I loved it! Cost £14 back in the 90’s. Equivalent to an Apple Watch at the time:)
    AC-ZEP-GEN-DC's avatar
Shows you how satisfied with things kids were back then and didn't expect a present the price of what an Apple watch would cost today.

UK inflation rates mean £14 in 1993 should be around £28 now.

We've had it relatively easy on inflation for most of those 30 years - just sadly not now..........

Thanks OP, another watch for my little collection

These were functional and actually useful in their day, talking probably late 80's.

In today's world with mobile phones I do not see any reason to be fiddling around with these tiny buttons. A good piece of nostalgia but with pretty much zero practical value.

Casio laughing all the way to the Ginkō still selling these with virtually no change to design or functionality over the years.

When my school teacher used to say "you can't have a calculator in your pocket all the time" , I'd love to tell her, I have one on my wrist instead. (edited)

And also in your pocket (a smartphone)
