It's a good buy for a cheap high coverage paint ceilings bare plaster etc basecoat only thing is don't apply over silk it goes crocodile... Dries like Croc skin.
Deffo not for high wear areas either or WC or kitchens etc.
Having said that it's not bad for the money.

Johnstone trade centres were matching this If your local one is u would probably get free delivery.

Looks opaque when drying but lovely finish.
I have painted it over silk but sanded first and let the first coat dry fully before doing a second.

You were lucky with going over silk , perhaps not as lucky next time all contract matts CAN suffer this, a coat of A/primer undercoat water based does the trick you 100% correct regarding letting it fully dry though.

Ok for the price, but good on (and covers like milk). Takes 4 coats minimum. Many will say great for mist coat on new plaster, but also seen many say it's not good. Leyland day on label is not recommended for a must coat. I've used it as mist coat fine.

    Not true

On this paint Leyland say how to dilute for mist coat hence is suitable
I used this paint in this 10L tub size today

On ceilings 2 coats gives great coverage (edited)

Shocking paint. Took 3 coats to do a ceiling.

    Must be your technique

    2 coats gives great coverage

Done a whole house with this on ceilings over the past couple of months

Nah this ge*land is I don't understand why people bother wasting time with it, but I guess people don't try other paints and it is not always all about saving money I rather save time

So what would you recommend instead?

If you are painting your interior house white get the dulux trade Vinyl Matt that's on offer frequently in 7.5ltr tubs for around £27. Never used better paint for the price. Leyland stuff I've used in trade range is abysmal with exception to their quick dry water based gloss.

Can't really compare this to a vinyl matt they're totally different paints. I have used this many times for ceilings and found it excellent if you just want a nice clean white matt finish. It goes on translucent but dries nice and opaque. I'm not a fan of many other Leyland paints but the Leyland quick dry water based gloss you mentioned is superb, as is the primer from the same range.

One word for it. Rubbish. After 3 coats, coverage terrible, so we went and bought Dulux.
Spend more, buy quality and save precious time.

    Decent coverage for the buck

Just recently painted two concrete lift shafts with a paint sprayer, covers great 🏻

We've used this in many rooms and it t really does need 3 coats. I've gone back to Dulux as it saves time.

excellent base coat, especially on new plaster (once dry!).
Surprising how good it is even with just one coat.
