This or a new Samsung A34 for £219 (on trade in)? would love to know your thoughts

Choose this for camera and processor, go Samsung for longer updates, higher refresh, and better battery life

Take into account screen sizes as well. The 6a is small in my manly hands

    Bargain. 🔥
Kind of reluctantly updated to this from the 4a 5g whilst there is still a little residual value in the 4a 5g I can sell on.
I was a bit wary at first having seen some reports on battery life not being great / overheating / dodgy fingerprint sensor but I have to say mine has no such issues. Everything works great - including the fingerprint sensor which I was very sceptical about.
Very impressed, for c.£200 the specs and support you are getting is hard to beat, particularly if you want a more compact phone. (edited)

    Positives:

    * Size: nice one-handed size, probably a little small for many, though
    * Speed: pretty fast
    * Sound: nice depth although doesn't go very loud
    * Screen: fine

    So-so:

    * Camera: decent enough but nothing special at all.

    Negatives:

    * Battery Life: not horrific now I put it on battery saver mode, but really should be better IMO. Also, battery charge speed not great.
    * Fingerprint reader: pretty bad. Lucky to get 50% success rate.
    * Ultra slippy. Any surface with even a slight incline and it's slipping off. This has fallen on the (thankfully carpeted) floor more than all other the mobiles I've owned combined. Why phone manufacturers don't make grippy phones as standard I don't know. Anyway, case required very soon.

    Other stuff:

    * Overheating: not noticed any problem.

Overall, nice little phone in the main but no one should be paying anywhere near full price for this.

    £2.50 Quidco cashback...
    eldaniel's avatar
Thanks OP, bought it now. Although cashback on my mobile app was showing as £2.50. When I logged in to buy it on PC it was showing £1.87. Not sure if it changed or it varies depending on the device type.

Received the phone and can't even describe how disappointed I am. Phone feels great, has good camera but apart of that my previous Xiaomi Redmi note 10 pro is better in every single way. After 1 day of playing with the phone I came across so many things that are better on Xiaomi. Just to name the few:
    - screenshot to be taken requires power and volume down button pressed at the same time. Half of the time I manage to turn off the screen instead. I know there is another way of swiping from bottom to middle then pressing screenshot button but still no match for Xiaomi 3 finger swipe which never fails.
    - on Xiaomi I can have any app as dual app. On pixel none ... One of the most disappointing features.
    - just started doing online survey for one of the panels and whilst on Xiaomi never had a problem, on pixel things in survey are displayed all over the place and when it asked me to select some logos, all logos came so small that you could barely see it. Therefore I could not even distinguish what I am marking.
    - fingerprint sensor is on the side of the phone on Xiaomi. Brilliant layout which enables quick access. On pixel is on the middle of the screen. Not to best placement. On occasions when it does not work I type the pin but still have to confirm with "enter" button ust to slow things down even more...
I could carry on naming pros of Xiaomi Redmi note pro 10 against Google Pixel 6a. Not sure if there is a lot of people feeling the same or is it just me....

I got the same message. Very happy to hear.
I was a little worried when I got yesterday's email saying my order was no longer in stock.

How does this stack up against redmi note 10 5g?

This much of an upgrade over a Poco X3 pro?

To add to this my camera sucks in quality when it comes to recording, what phone with max £300 budget would one get? Thanks
  16. Mrbarry465's avatar
Excellent, grabbed one for my GF's upcoming bday to replace her beaten up Pixel 4!

    This or the Moto G73?

In the market for a new phone as dropped my OnePlus Nord 5G and smashed the camera 🤦🏻‍♂️
Tempted by this but conscious 7a is days away and a bit wary about refurb.
Is there a decent chance this will drop under £200 new on release of the 7a or am I being overly optimistic?! 🤷🏻‍♂️
    DopeyDunker's avatar
Who knows, but I would say that is doubtful. Possibly a permanent decrease to £299? But, like I say that is just a pure guess.

    This VS Pixel6?
  20. pello02's avatar
Always wanted a pixel for the camera quality. Currently have a boxed, unopened s20 fe 5g. Unsure whether to get the pixel 6a, 6 or see what the price drops are like on the 7. What are people's thoughts?
    DopeyDunker's avatar
Can't see the 7 going for less than the 7a otherwise Google will just cannibalise their own sales. We know the 7a will be USD 500 so whatever happens this is going to be at least half the price of those (if those were bought new of course) (edited)

Did anyone get the confirmation? I got the email that your order was placed but it went out of stock during that. So now they will let me know once it is in stock and they will ship out.
    Paulukdeals's avatar
Got an order confirmation earlier. Then got a similar email to you about an hour ago as a follow-up. Apparently I passed a credit check but the item is now out of stock. They'll ship it when it's back in stock.
A bit disappointed as that seemed a great price.

I've got a pixel 7 and the battery is diabolical. Is this any better?
  23. Mrbarry465's avatar
Yep got that message as well!! Great result!

Same, sending out a new one instead.
