Asus GT-AX11000 Gaming Router
The first 10 Gigabit WLAN router with quad-core processor, 2.5G gaming port, FSF frequency, WTFast, Adaptive QoS, AiMesh for mesh WLAN systems and network security from AiProtection
OFDMA

One channel can transfer data from multiple devices simultaneously. This improves efficiency and reduces latency.

Higher range

80% larger coverage over long distances due to smaller sub-channels.

TWT

The Target Wait Time allows you to schedule data transfer, so that devices can stay in sleep for longer and thus achieve up to 7x longer battery life.

Standard compatibility

802.11ax is compatible with the latest WiFi standards such as 802.11ac, 802.11n and many others.

Quad core CPU with 1.8GHz and 2.5GBase-T connector for ultimate performance.
Compatible with the ASUS-AiMesh WiFi system for seamless coverage throughout the house.
Speed up gaming traffic throughout the transmission - from device to game server.
4136828-FSCo2.jpgROG ecosystem
OG PCs (motherboard, notebook, desktop) and ROG WLAN routers together with the Game First V network acceleration for smooth online gaming with lower ping and less lags. Whether wired or wireless, GameFirst V and Game Boost prioritise gaming data packages and ensure that no hit is missed.

4136828-IKCG8.jpgThree stage gaming acceleration
The GT-AX11000 offers a three-stage gaming acceleration to optimize data traffic throughout the transfer. The result is a lower ping and lower lay for a better gaming experience.
4136828-gFDF4.jpgPort-forwarding
Port transfers are important for players to avoid the unpleasant situation of not being able to play with friends. Open NAT on the GT-AX11000 is very simple and works in just 3 steps. No more frustrating and complicated process.

Choose which game you want to play; choose your gaming devices; activate - done!
4136828-yD0e3.jpgROG Gaming Center
The GT-AX11000 was developed with only one mission in mind: to make your gaming network perfect. The router is equipped
with powerful gaming optimisations and offers outstanding WLAN performance, rock solid stability and state-of-the-art safety. The ROG-Look gaming center interface allows you to easily control any of the incredible features with a click of a mouse.
4136828-AYt1I.jpgGame Radar
When it comes to ranking, an excellent connection to the game server is essential. Game Radar gives you the opportunity to check the ping times on different servers before you play. So you can choose the best server and give you a real advantage.
4136828-xy31C.jpgGaming WLAN frequencies
With the tri-band network, you can reserve a 5GHz band for games only, so you don't have to compete with other devices in your home network for bandwidth. With the Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS), the ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 also allows the activation of 15 channels in the least loaded 5GHz frequency bands and thus offers more bandwidth for all your wireless devices.
VPN Fusion
If you have enough of VPN networks to reduce your gaming performance, ROG has the solution. The ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 has a special function called VPN Fusion that allows you to use a VPN network and an ordinary Internet connection - at the same time! This allows you to play at maximum speed even if other users in the network have to use a VPN connection.

I have this router. I paid £ 500 for it almost two years ago. It solved ALL my wifi problems. Virgin router was dropping signal, slow speeds, dead zones around the house. This puppy is pure magic, to get it for half the price is a steal and everyone who will buy it should be arrested.

I got 2 xt8 is this worth adding to my system instead of my virgin router

What's wrong with your XT8s? Are they not enough?

    Be careful with warranty.
My Ax86U just broke and Asus said for a router you have to deal with the retailer that sold it as it wasnt bought directly from Asus. So make sure youll be covered. Great price otherwise

Sounds illegal what Asus are trying to do. You have the option of going to either retailer or manufacturer.

Be careful folks! This is one router you don't want to sit down on. 😯

get a powerline kit instead, much cheaper & youll get faster speeds (edit: no probably not faster, but a reliable constant connection with good enough speeds) (edited)
    Alex_H's avatar
No you won't I get 937mbps download speeds from my Asus WiFi 6 router to my PC via WiFi. This will be even better if you have WiFi 6e on the recieving devices. Agree on the price though.

What powerline kit are you using?

Based on the YouTube unboxing videos, these come with both eu and UK plugs. If not, it's a standard 3 pin cable that you can replace.

EU plug problem solves £1 adapter from Poundland or eBay. In fact it’s completely irrelevant below 2000 Watts.

I have had nothing but problems with mine. Even tried the merlin software but saw no improvements.

Are you using the WiFi 5ghz1 as your main WiFi? Receiving with an ax WiFi adapter

Are Amazon Germany returns as simple as Amazon UK?
    Waka69's avatar
Not too sure, but I've heard nightmare stories on returning EU products. So unless your willing to keep it then go for it

Too many bugs. Sold my one recently and went back to virgin hub 5. Sometimes you'll just lose everything for a few minutes and it's because the sheer complexity of the router needs constant admin management. You can't just set and forget with these monster multicore beasts you need a degree in vlan.

The screw terminals on each antenna crack and sheer away if overtightened or rotated to re tighten when they go loose every few days and then you have to order a new one off aliexpress at £18 including postage per antenna. We had to do this 3 times in a year.

Security - subscription on the router and locked down
game boosting servers - subscription on the router and locked down
160mhz 5ghz width - good luck getting faster speeds out of it if your device even supports it. Turn it on and the whole households Rokus can't see the internet.

    Brand -
Currently not looking too good after all the top tech sites on youtube called them out for shady business practices and discontinued any collaboration with them. (edited)

This was the case when it was first released. I believe the original firmware is ok now.

But I'm on the merlin firmware - no issues at all. The only downtime is updating the latest firmware... Currently been up 34 days

will this make me better at fortnite?
    DarrylJohn's avatar
It might help reduce network latency lol.

I have had this router for quite a while now, just make sure if you are aiming for speed you use the 5ghz1 not 2 as it uses more antennas. I get 2gbps - 2.4gbps WiFi to my main pc which gives me about 1.15 gbps internet through virgin using the 2.5gbps Ethernet between virgin router and this.

Waiting for the new tplink as my next upgrade
    Incognitoso's avatar
Just interesting what "new tplink" will be better then this one ?

I want Asus GT-AXE16000 but the price is like new laptop or other Quad Band Router max what i will pay £300
  19. Incognitoso's avatar
Got this router to try when amazon have warehouse sales similar price £220 Etc

It ok router I can recommend if need new router because your old broke etc ...
The perfomance for £200 is no other router can do

What I really do not like in this router is the menu system background the only option to fix this is to install merlin firmware and was so much please to eyes and menu logic

I have RT-AC5300 6 Years old router or something nearly identical to this one just antennas different shape

I returned GT-AX11000 because improvement so minimal compare to old RT-AC5300
Is it better then RT-AC5300 Yes faster CPU more ram etc but really no difference if 5GH spectrum

Is it Merlin software worth to switch ?
