I currently have an LG tv and wanted another, but unfortunately it seems LG have almost given up on their LCD tv's as their concentrating and selling more oled's. Most of their standard led/lcd tv's are very average with nothing really standing out.

The best models are either a nanocell which is their equivalent of a qled panel or the top end qned's which have nanocell with mini LED the same as Samsung's neo qleds. But again they have discontinued some models this year. So the best model is the 8k one and then the 866, the 816 is not as good.

They lack some features found on other models. They have slightly older alpha processors than the oled's do. They lack some of the picture processing modes. Some models are only edge lit instead of being led full array or mini led. They only have precision dimming instead of precision dimming pro and not as many dimming zones as others models or brands like Samsung, Sony or TCL. Most importantly to some, is that they all have ips/ads panels which some people and reviewers dislike or don't rate.

There are very few reviews for LG's standard lcd and qned's, as most of the reviews seem to be American. Where it's all about oled or neo qled. The yanks don't seem to like qned's except the 75 to 98" models. But even then they tend to rate Samsung, Sony and even hisense above LG LCD's

There are a few English reviews on Youtube for the qned 81, 85, 86 and the top end 8k and discontinued 90 and 91. (edited)

This is a very good price as £1500 in most other retailers. Iam in the market for this size TV so does any one know if it will be a good purchase? Also, do you think RS will price match?

Maybe not coz it's only 1 year warranty

I was very keen on this but Currys was out of stock. Richer Sounds really put me off by saying the blooming was quite significant on this TV and feedback was quite significant about this. Still on the hunt for a good 75” at around the £1k mark…

I bought this from Currys on price match it came yesterday, they have them back in stock now if you're still interested. Blooming isn't a big problem on mine but you do need to tinker with the settings. I'm happy with it for the price, clearly there are better TVs but then you will be paying a lot more.
