Weird thing happened to me last week. The Intel 2TB was down to £70 on Amazon which I thought was a good buy. Put it into my basket and I was given an automatic discount which took it down to £54. Wow. I added a couple of other products to my basket and they were similarly discounted.

I should have emptied the whole warehouse that night cos when I try putting things in the basket now - they try and charge me the advertised price - the thieving scammers ;-)

Was it a fluke or did I bump unknowingly into some special offer? It was a non-primed business account.

You sure you didn't just see the price without VAT? (edited)

It is very hard to tell what controller and NAND chips you will get nowadays. Check when you get it if you decide to buy one. I am not even going to expect it to come with TLC NANDs for sure. (edited)

Should be fine, the choice of external enclosure might be more important. (edited)
