on a previous deal for this, before Christmas, someone posted a screenshot of a couple of equaliser settings, you need to DL the soundcore App.
made an incredible difference. even now i sometimes flick from standard to the "custom" setting just to hear how i used to listen to it.
tried to find the post but it'll be wrapped up as an answer in this terrible new post style. (edited)

Is it this one mate? Found it on a previous post like you suggested

I bought one and couldn't resist the last offer on them so got a second one. Great for party's or when your cleaning room to room. Highly recommend... Only thing I wish they had was an input other than Bluetooth.

Just had mine delivered this morning it's absolutely incredible for the price paid and as many have said previous it should easily be a £150 + item. So if your on the fence about buying one just get one and enjoy

Also I recommend changing the equaliser settings as has listed as it makes it even better

Thanks also to for the settings

Nice one mate! So, fully recommended then….. jeez I am so on the fence, but think I may be being swayed by JBL “name”?

So this one or the newer one at twice the price. Is it worth it?

This one for sure. Not saying that the new version is a bad speaker, far from it, but it's not worth double the price.

Don't expect high quality sound from this. I bought one a month ago and sent it back. Good for the garden, loud background noise. But if you want to listen to detail in your music this ain't the tool you want.

    Perfect for that.

How do you link them together? Thanks

For the price, this is a great speaker. I bought one, but it just didn't sound as I wanted, lacking deep base and clarity in mids and highs. I found a deal on a JBL boombox 2 for just shy of £200, a lot more money but a much better sound. Still, I think for the money, this deal is the best sound for £. (edited)

Where did you get this deal from? My Xtreme keeps disconnecting, so after a new speaker. Bought this but it kept distorting when above 50% volume, so sent it back

Lol totally agree, my son and I were walking along Scarborough beach road today and had to laugh at two idiot lads on the beach, booming out music from a speaker the size of a shopping trolley, they were looking around at the people watching them, but people weren’t thinking they were amazing!!!!!!!!

Anker products genuinely don't get enough praise, their speakers, ear buds and chargers are exceptional in quality and excellent customer support.
    Highly recommended!

I bought one of these a few months back and it sounds great! Good battery life and volume, clear sound.

Amazing speaker for the price , picked up 2 before Christmas. Battery life is insane

Thanks OP. This can replace my TaoTronics 360 speaker that I've had for a number of years, but the battery only lasts a couple of hours now.

I had that speaker and was good for the money

I have two one for upstairs, one downstairs.
Link them together, great sound for parties

I got one of these the last time it was on offer, it's brilliant!

Bought one recently, easily the best portable speaker I've owned - great sound quality even at high volumes. Brilliant battery life too.
  17. JJM92's avatar
How would this compare to a Sonos Play 1? Currently using it in the garden but could do with something more portable. Much of a noticeable difference?

    How's the sound?
    driver8's avatar
Apparently loud n bassy, perfect for outdoor BBQ.

Brilliant speaker. Used this to drown out the sound of a bouncy castle blower. Didn't need to use full volume. Just have to sort out the eq on the app on first use to make best use of the sound as it does come pretty flat to start

I've got one that was renewed for £56 Looked brand new, all in the box. Only previous owners preset was left. Best speaker for the money by a mile. I'll get another one when I find it reduced again.

    Great sounding speaker.

Is the charge 5 (at £105 with student discount) a better speaker …… I prefer the size / look of the JBL …. but realise it is also £40 more - anyone own the charge 5 or can offer some advice please? (edited)

Ordered and tested - Incredible for the price 10/10 here.

Fully Weatherproof so can be left outside and also floats in hot tub.

Feels like it should be in the 149-199 bracket. (edited)
