Features & details

  • Industry-leading noise cancellation* - now even better! Our new Integrated Processor V1, specially developed new drivers with improved performance, newly designed noise sensing microphones and innovative Noise Isolation Earbud Tips mean the WF 1000XM4 earbuds cancel out more noise than ever!
  • Hi-Res Audio Wireless with LDAC: The WF1000XM4 earphones support Hi-Res Audio Wireless thanks to LDAC. Even compressed music files are upscaled, with our evolved DSEE Extreme technology by delivering a richer, more complete listening experience.
  • Smart feature – Speak-to-Chat: Speak-to-Chat automatically pauses the music on the 1000XM4 and lets in ambient sound so you can conduct a conversation – handy if you want to keep your headphones with mic on, or your hands are full. Frequency response(Bluetooth communication): 20Hz - 20,000Hz(44.1kHz sampling) / 20Hz - 40,000Hz(LDAC 96kHz sampling, 990kbps)
  • Precise Voice Pickup technology for clear hands-free call: Precise Voice Pickup technology, uses beamforming microphones and a bone-conduction sensor to allow the WF-1000XM4 microphone to pick up your voice clearly and accurately for hands-free calls – at home, in a café or wherever you are
  • Up to 24 hours battery life & Quick charging: On a full charge with noise cancelling on, the headphones offer 8 hours, with the charging case providing a further 16 hours. With noise cancelling off, it’s even longer – 12 hours of power on a full charge, with a further 3x charges from the charging case, for up to 36 hours of play time.
  • IPX4 water resistance: As an added bonus, with an IPX4 water resistance rating, splashes and sweat won’t stop the WF1000XM4 earbuds!

Twist and push. Place your free hand over your head & pull your ear up & back.

Sony headphones/earbuds are way overpriced in 2023, as the competition at half the price are superior in my opinion

Anything wired can be better quality if you have better source. Purely due to Bluetooth limited sound quality.
I got the xm3s (previous model of these) on a deal from here and they were probably the best earphones I ever had for both noise cancelling and sound quality. Even to use sound cancelling if trying to snooze on a flight or train etc they were great.
Battery life wasn't brill (3-4hr) and they're bulky.
These are similar I believe. You won't use them running but walking or sitting for travel they're fine. (edited)

These sound great and have survived a few bad drops on the floor over the past 7 months. They aren't the comfiest fit but aren't exactly bad either. Battery holding up great so far, very impressive battery considering the small size.

I didn't find it amazing. But I really liked the talk detection. But I returned mine as they gave me a little discomfort in my left ear. At £60 I'd keep em, but for £100+, sadly they weren't worth it.

Great sound quality, but battery life 12 months + is a nightmare. Well documented on the forums.

I bought mine in July 2021 and use mine every day and I haven't had any issues. The newer ones have a different revision of hardware so hopefully that improves things further
