Reposting this as first time round price went up overnight and deal expired. I believe this model is being discontinued hence the lower price. Currys showed the same price yesterday, but I struggled to place an order and the online sales agent couldn't help.

Price of this hedge cutter has been quite volatile recently according to Camelx3, so much that the price of the no battery version is £8 dearer than with one battery!
Currently Bosch is also running a promotion of free 3Ah battery for purchase of qualifying 18V power tools bought £70 or more by 30 June.
Looks a decent hedge cutter (scored 74% by Which)

I have one of these and its one of my most used tools. Its really light weight and great for boxes and weekly trimming of my long hedge. Its not the most powerful (I have a set of ego tools for more power) but it definitely gets use the most. I paid £148 so this is a good price imho.

I have had one of these for a few years.

With my beech hedge, it's good for a very light trim, preferably with fresh growth.
It's not much use for a heavy trim into older growth.

Unfortunately, as mentioned by other users, it does not use the Bosch pro (GBA) batteries, but needs the PBA batteries.
I could do with a 4AH battery, but the price of the PBA batteries is more than GBA at present. Very annoying.

The battery electrical contacts are a little bit temperamental too. I often need to spray them with contact cleaner, which is never a problem on my excellent Bosch drills, or even my Einhell cordless tools.

Do oil the blade periodically. It runs better and cuts for longer on a charge.

I have a large beech hedge, 12’ x 200’ and my heavy petrol one kills my arms and neck. How weak is this one, and how long do the batteries last? Part of me is leaning to a non-petrol on a long arm…

Does the Bosch pro batteries work in this?

If they're 18V, then yes it should work. I have a Bosch Professional Drill Driver and they are 18V.

These already come with a 2 Ah 18V battery, and you can claim a 3Ah battery on top! (edited)

Checking the Bosch offer but can't see the exact model number listed, anyone comment if they got the offer?

Thanks, ordered with a strimmer at £75 so 170 total, with the battery that's strimmer and hedge cutter, 3 batteries and charger. Not bad

I also bought a strimmer, and was contemplating between Universal and Easy. I ended up buying the Easy version. Reason being Which says that small wheel prevents the strimmer to fully trim around obstacles (it's too wide) and it leaves a narrow band around them. (edited)

I have 2 x PBA 18v 2,0ah batteries with my drill driver, will these be ok? And roughly how long will they last?

I believe you should be able to, if your drill driver is green. Not if it's blue. (edited)

Very tempting as it’s often the batteries that get you! My problem is the depth of my hedge means I ideally need a cutter on a pole, and the Bosch versions seem to be poor, only being able to cut through a matchstick. Shame as it would save using my super heavy petrol thing.
