I recently got a smoker but was finding hard to get the coals going.

Ive been on the lookout for one of these and fair play, spot on!

IF you want to save a little more, found a 15% code:

Maybe someone can answer my questions here.

first try with the weber the other day used about 15 briquettes in the chimney, lit them and left it for 10 minutes then tipped into weber - only reached about 180 degrees with both vents open?

then each time the lid was lifted to turn the meat the heat never went back to its highest?

Good guide here weber.com/GB/…tml, personally though I prefer the coals to be white and little flame showing in the chimney starter, before tipping on the BBQ/Smoker (takes 15-20 minutes)

If you have a lid thermometer on your BBQ keep an eye on temp and when it stabilises after 15-20 mins then start cooking, using the temp guidlines and damper suggestions in the link above.

Mine arrived today from Go Outdoors.

They just packed the bare unit in a thin gray plastic bag, totally incompetent.

The unit was grossly bent out of shape and the base caved in.

And to compound the poor packaging, they used the cowboys from Evri (the change of name makes no difference to their poor service) to deliver it.

Can recommend this enough, it is so much better than the cheaper alternatives which rust out in a year. That said, I bought this last with 4kg coals for £18! Is this just inflation or worth waiting for a better deal?

I've been looking for a while and this is the cheapest I could find so ordered, summer doesn't hang about in the UK for long so decided to go for it.

If it’s just a steak you’re cooking - sometimes I’ll spark up one of these and put on old grate over the top and just scorch that steak right on the chimney.  Think I picked that tip up on HUKD a couple of years ago

Had one of these for about 5 years and been a game changer. Still good as new. However, for anyone on a budget, they have a similar (lower quality) equivalent for £7 delivered, which is brill value too.
