False advertising, it's Cat 4 and 4G only so max speed 60 Mbps and not the "up to 150 Mbps".

You'll need 4G+ to get the speed advertised.
    Smurf786's avatar
150mbps is the duplex speed so always has to be halved... Most supplier put duplex speeds

I could really have done with one of these this afternoon as we had an internet outage and I work from home. I used my mobile as a hotspot for my PC but it would have been really useful to be able to plug in wired network devices too. To buy one or not, I don't know. Hmmm.

Could you have bridged the connections and shared the Ethernet port from your pc. Bridging the Wi-Fi and Ethernet connection is easy just open internet adapter settings and select both Ethernet and Wi-Fi adapters together right click and select bridge. Now your laptop/pc will send the Wi-Fi connection throw the ethernet port to other wired devices.

Nice if was powered by a USB charger.

it's 12V 1A DC, most USB 5v-12v Converter should work.

    Cheers OP worth a punt.

Now whose data SIM to purchase on PAYG
    steve252's avatar
I have been using unlimited data Lebara SIMs in a 4G router for a while. I buy when there is a promotion on giving very low price for first 6 months. When the six months is up I activate another one (they will 'keep' for at least 90 days). All I have to do is swap the SIMs over, no need to PAC/port as the number is irrelevant for this usage.

[EDIT] + of course no contract! (edited)

Does it have a battery? No lead in the picture where it’s stood up on the table.
Does it need mains power only or will it work with a battery power pack?

I'd like to know how many devices it can support, the power average power consumption and the input voltage tolerance (for fitting in a vehicle). Anybody know?
    OB1's avatar
On an amazon answer they say the number of attached wifi devices is limitless.

it will let you play games, surf as you like, work and you do not pay a fortune and take it anywhere with you

I normally just tether using my phone. How much better would these routers be?
    simes's avatar
In my experience much worse . Phones have more powerful processors and can usually get 4G+ ( so faster speeds) . This is cat4 , so slower .
Stick with your phone unless you need to connect by ethernet
  13. omgdeals's avatar
Much much worse. The only consumer modems that will get you slightly close to mobile phones are the ones that there mobile networks provide.
  14. xavierzzz's avatar
I plan to pair it with a 12V USB Power converter and put one in my Car.
    AndyRoyd's avatar
    What's the benefit of 12V -> 5V -> 12V ?
Some sort of enhanced power rail stabilisation / regulation maybe?
  15. cmontgomeryburns's avatar
12v power supply required, with possible use of an external aerial - looks ideal for the motorhome

Now showing at £34.99, and code not working (edited)
