It's back in stock, for £859.00. And remember there's a further 10% off going via health service discounts.
    Zafron_Deal's avatar
What is the health service discount deal?
  2. PS2035's avatar
There's NHS discount: going via health service discounts gave another 10% off. So total cost £773.10.

I went via the health service discounts link to the HP Store then searched for this laptop configuration using 6w7h5ea#abu.

I bought the Intel version of this just before xmas when it was just below £1K so this is a very good deal.

    Things to note:

    1. The fan when it kicks in is noisey but it doesn't kick in that often.
    2. It can take 2 NVMe PCIe 4 SSD's.
    3. You can put in 64GB of Crucial memory and it works well. I did this and it took so long for the memory check to complete on first boot up and for the BIOS setting lost power check to complete that I thought I'd broken the laptop lol. I eventually got distracted, 10 minutes later it was working brilliantly.

So if you wanted a decent specced laptop to turn into a ridiculous developer laptop on the cheap this is a good option.

Can you charge it with type C while it is running?
  4. Badpoet's avatar
Anyone asking on power via usb c: September 27, 2022 update: HP has confirmed with us that the model can only recharge via USB-C when the unit is powered off. In comparison, every other laptop we've tested with support for PD-in can be recharged while the unit is powered on. Our original text is below.) from here: notebookcheck.net/202…tml I believe it’s the correct model

I have the A370m version of this PC. The screen is beautiful.
Fans can get pretty noisy, but apart from that, brilliant PC.
  6. ceph042_'s avatar
For those who got one, any comments on this laptop? What's the battery life like?
    eastclintwood81's avatar
I've been using it for a week. I have seen zero evidence of all the red flags I've seen other reviewers leave. The fans aren't particularly loud. It runs like clockwork.

I haven't used it on battery really so cannot comment on that. Sorry. I have however spent all week playing Age of Empires 4 and that runs perfectly haha

This actually looks like a really good deal.

Thank you to the OP. I’ve been checking this site once a day for a year waiting for that ‘too good to turn down’ deal. Finally it arrived and I’ve ordered it

This was delivered today. They actually sent it!

Mine should be delivered within the hour, I'm quite excited, my work laptop is an absolute wreck and doesn't even compare to this one. I suppose the panic was for nothing. Let's hope they're as good as they sounded 🤞

student's get an extra £84.90 off. Just bought for £773. Insanely good deal for the money. Its 3060 has a tdp of 95W, which is excellent for a notebook of this size and weight, especially compared to the 3060's that Dell put's in their XPS 15, Inspiron Plus 16, and XPS 17 (45W-60W max).
A screen that won't look bad (response times are actually low) and has a 120hz refresh rate. Heard it's actually very capable with all modern titles. I've usually steered well clear of Envy laptops, irrespective of their dedicated GPU' (Envy 15 3060 model's for example) as their screen response times are generally middling/poor, making even light titles like CSGO look and feel really choppy, even with a frame rate well above 60.
    Speakers apparently decent as well.
This is too good a deal to ignore imo.
  11. ceph042_'s avatar
Price is back up at £1598. Good to those that bought one
  12. alan2simms's avatar
Ordered this a couple of days ago with 3 year warranty , yet to receive it, not dispatched yet on apparently it's a £600 + reduction also available i9 version with 32GB RAM but no discounts on that one
    ThreefingerSalute's avatar
Do you mean to say you paid £600 for this specific HP laptop?
  13. s10's avatar
REMEMBER TO CANCEL or you will pay £15 a month
    Also excludes student store. (edited)
  14. plewis00's avatar
Looks like a pretty great, all-in-one, do everything laptop for the money. Only thing I can think of is the Envy isn't as well-built as the Dell XPS and prone to denting on the lid and underside (the metal alloy is slightly thinner) but this will tick all boxes for many users who want a single machine.
  15. discountmummy's avatar
Great deal, almost perfect for what I’m looking for just missing a number pad :/
  16. UE30's avatar
Ordered jt. Just not sure if it can be charged with USB type C. If I cannot charge it with type C I'll have to send back.
    usp892's avatar
Would like that confirmation as well. I'm afraid it looks like another separate charger which means I will pass on this one. Bought a Samsung Galaxy notebook through here and USB type C works great vowed not to buy anything electrical that requires separate charger.
  17. RomanSingh's avatar
Is it worth buying the 3 year care plan?
    alan2simms's avatar
I purchased with the 3 year plan because my previous experience with HP laptops wasnt great !! however that was few years ago, i personally thought having it covered for 3 years was OK even with £99 added it is still a great deal, they did say 2 working day delivery but 2 working days later they havent even dispatched it!! oh well!!
  18. ceph042_'s avatar
Would this be a good option for a student? Currently have a Dell G15, and it's a pain to take around, battery life is abysmal. Might sell that and get this.

The specs look great for the price, just concerned with the battery life and the size.. don't think it'll be great with a 3060 and 120Hz 1440p display.
    fishmaster's avatar
Gaming laptop pricing is horror pricing currently. £849 for this plus HP's consumer build quality = avoid. You're paying £200 more for 1600P touchscreen effectively.
  19. kfs's avatar
Not impressed that the student/staff store is only for FE and HE, not for school staff. Still quite tempted.
  20. ceph042_'s avatar
I am tempted, comes with free 12 months Adobe Premiere Pro. £20 per month so £240 in value. Think that's great if you're into video editing.

Anything without big up down keys is a no go for me very annoying
    DomDealyo's avatar
What do you use up and down keys for?

Great price, heat added. Would this be notably faster over a 12700h+iris+16GB laptop? (edited)

    ceph042_'s avatar

    it came back in stock?

Has anyone had trouble with this? I bought it as soon as the deal popped up. They've put a hold on my credit card for the full price rather than sale price, and I got an email saying that it has been delayed with no ETA. When I contacted support they said that it is out of stock at this price and I should either cancel it or they will "quote me an updated price". They were quite pushy about cancelling it and I said no but wondering what will happen next. My order was accepted and I got an invoice for the sale price so confused why they're charging me more
    Kyoto's avatar
Yes. Order accepted on the 27th May, money taken out (debit card), delivery date given (14th June). Then an email saying 'unfortunately we have experienced a delay in processing your order'. Then the delivery date moved forward to 5th June, then back to the 14th, then no ETA. Yesterday the money reappeared in my account. Then an email today saying "your order has been cancelled". Very disappointed with the experience from HP.
  29. eastclintwood81's avatar
Mine is still waiting too. I haven’t been told it’s been cancelled though. Estimated delivery is June 14th.

The money has been taken from my bank account only as a pending transaction.
    Fintar's avatar
Mine says estimated delivery is tomorrow. Their terms and conditions say they can cancel the order up until the original delivery date which was 1st of June. I assume that's why they were trying to push me to cancel it.

I suppose I shall see if it comes or not. Bit worried that they put a hold of £1600 on my card though. Their support team denied it and said this isn't possible and they can't help until it's dispatched. Quite disappointed in HP really. Not in a rush and I can wait a few weeks but their support seems shocking.

My unit just arrived. Any recommendations what/how to test, what software to download and get rid off?
    HPMan's avatar
What do you mean test? For faults?

    support.hp.com/gb-…ics

If you are worried about bloatware then a fresh install of W11 will resolve that.
  31. Amdadur's avatar
Ordered mine now estimated delivery is 3rd to 10th July! Nearly a month to come.. But I did get it for £773 aft BLC discount! So whoop.
  32. Giorgi_Suramlishvili's avatar
I bought mine, but theb the order just vanished from orders, and now I can't find it, and I'm scared it won't arrive
    rs8483's avatar
Same as me. Just happened this morning. HP doesn't know what it's doing. Shambolic company, but the laptop looks good.
