Not to mention the fact that VPW2 was vastly superior. Ditto WCW/nWo Revenge.
Having spent far too much of my youth playing the AKI games with my friends, I’m excitedly off to google Ultra!
- performance on Switch feels sluggish ! Maybe it’s just me on that but everything is sluggish except (somehow) if you play a match it’s fine - although not sure if my lack of counters is me being slow or some lag
- I knew entrances were short but was not prepared for how short! Seems a bit silly to have the customisable pyro and camera angles as by the time you do anything the entrance is finished!
- gameplay is a lot of fun, need to play more but it feels really back and forth right now and really refreshing vs the well ingrained 2k style. The description of easy to play and difficult to master is honestly perfect. I can win a match with Kenny Omega but to do all his signature stuff and in the right order is a skill
Looking forward to playing more
Also for those worried about performance I think the game is made with the switch in mind - if you look at the graphics etc it’s not trying to win any beauty awards.
Thanks for the post have been waiting for a deal on this!!
For me, the graphics alone look puts me off and it will be the case for many others too. Of course it will be loved by a niche audience just like AEW has a niche audience. AEW focuses on matches, whilst the average fan or new watcher really doesn't care about the quality of the match, they are there for something to be hooked on (a story) or a character which appeals to a mass audience (doesn't exist in AEW). Here they focus on the gameplay, average gamers or non wrestling fans seeing the graphics are just going to pass.
Good luck to those buying, I have no clue whether it's a good or bad game so don't let what I say put you off but it's disappointing for me they have just catered to a niche audience again, this game could have been big and they didn't capitalise. That's the story of AEW. (edited)
