Great seed sale, but there plants are awful. Of all three deliveries, between 20-50% had broken stems and eventually died. It wasn't solely the courier fault as they were poorly packaged. When reported to Customer services they gave a don't really care response. In additional some of the items arrived several weeks late, and all the plants were very immature. Overall avoid fothergills for anything but seeds.

Terrible quality! Ordered a lot of seeds on the last offer about 2 months ago. 80% of the seeds failed the germination test within 2 weeks, they gave me a refund with no explanation or reply to my complaint, very poor customer service! They sell old seeds and mislead with packed date which doesn't reflect how old the seeds are. My first and last purchase from them!

A no questions asked refund seems pretty good customer service to me

I have just ordered next years cucumber seeds. The ones I have ordered are all female varieties (cucumber for every flower) so no pollination required that I bought this year from Homebase. I have them planted outside and have started cropping. This year cost £4:80 a pack of five seeds which may put you off but they are hassle free and they have them here for a pound. Variety: Emilie and Party Time.

Please do a seed germination test so you are not disappointed next year, I have had terrible experiences with them. They know people are buying for next year so they don't get any complaints if the seeds are bad. Very deceitful company, lots of bad reviews.

Ordered for next year, will come in handy considering the crazy price for veggies.

Do not use peat free compost it’s horrible and your seeds won’t germinate

Sale ended midnight on Sunday. They will have another one some time in autumn and probably winter too, so no rush. (edited)

Just a warning. The last few packets of seeds I have got from here have not grown. I contacted them and got a refund, but this is just a heads up. The quality isn't as good as it used to be and the sinking feeling you get when the seeds don't come is awful. Tried all sorts of ways to grow them with no luck,

Seed quality in general has been much worse since the demand rocketed during COVID. It's hard to quickly scale up seed production and I think consumers are unknowingly buying old or improperly produced seed. I've had a few duff packets from Mr Fothergills and DT Brown too, but their refund/replacement policy is excellent.

15th today and I ordered on the 3rd. Nothing yet, I emailed them a few days ago and they said they are struggling with volume. Nearly 2 weeks since I ordered and they havent got round to dispatching, it doesnt sound like a volume issue. Something else must be wrong.

My order finally arrived today. 18 days after ordering! Lucky they can't be planted until February.

One packet was different to the rest (no photo, just text on the packet) and I very much doubt there are 50 seeds in there (as advertised). Another was 2 years old and old has 1 year left on the "plant by" date (normally get 3-4 years when you buy from the shop).
