You will still be eligible for the cashback despite the longer delivery date:

From Samsung:

Please note: If you purchased your product online and delivery is not due within 30 days of purchase, please select 'Delayed Delivery Query' from the contact reason dropdown on the Contact Form * and we'll email you instructions for what to do next.

Claim £75 Cashback from Samsung here

Use the serial number on the actual SSD (not on the packaging) when submitting the cashback otherwise it won't accept the serial number.

If your cashback does not get approved after 5 days, you can call this number and get them to manually approve it: 0330 054 5562

Note: The 4TB model of the Crucial MX500 is a lot worse compared to the lower capacities which makes the 4TB Samsung 870 EVO a much better option. The 4TB 870 EVO has 2.4x higher TBW and 8x more Dram Cache compared to the 4TB MX500:

  • 4TB Samsung 870 EVO - 2400 TBW and 4096MB LPDDR4 Dram Cache
  • 4TB Crucial MX500 - 1000 TBW and 512MB DDR3 Dram Cache

For anyone that is worried, you will be eligible for Cashback despite it saying "Sold by Amazon EU S.à r.l." Amazon EU S.à r.l. is Amazon's UK branch:

find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/FC032354

The invoice you will need to submit will state "Sold by Amazon EU S.à r.l., UK Branch"

Also, people have had their cashbacks come through from previous Samsung cashback promotions when purchasing through Amazon despite it saying "Sold by Amazon EU S.à r.l."

I was lucky enough to pick up one when they were £189, they may drop again before the 4th.

Be warned, it can take them a while to approve the cashback, longer than the 5 days they state (my claim was submitted on the 24th of June, no approval email yet).
Guess it's because of the huge volume of claims. (edited)

At the current rate the Gen4 drive prices are catching up fast. We have Chinese companies around the £200 mark for 4TB.

Not that this is a bad deal. SATA is still useful (no cooling required/extra weight) and can be used less fussily. This is the best SATA drive too.

    edit: Without cashback. (edited)

Found it on onbuy for £179, apparently in stock, but I have no experience of that vendor. Good rating on trustpilot, if you trust trustpilot. Are they an allowed vendor, on here?

OnBuy is just a Marketplace for any sellers (like ebay but with less info on sellers/feedback), they don't actually sell anything themselves.
Personally I wouldn't buy an SSD from there (or many other things to be honest).

The seller that has the drive for £179 is in the Netherlands -

    Not great -

Pretty sure theres just no stock of these anymore right now. I ordered directly from Samsung with a delivery date of yesterday and had an email that it was delayed until the end of July due to unforeseen issues with stock. Cancelled with them and ordered from a retailer who cant be named for the same deal and I'm expecting them to send the delayed email shortly too as its swapped over to a pre order on their site.

cant you just buy from samsung or amazon and just still apply for the cash back like others said above?

    hotukdeals.com/com…999

    hotukdeals.com/com…496

you can start the process and then right at end submit the serial number apparently.

I suppose one can try but others are suggesting it as above?

Was going to try it myself from amazon but ill check around see if other places like Samsung or others that maybe part of the promo got it, is there a samsung promo page which list the retailers that sell these?

Amazon shafted me. I purchased the SSD via Amazon, but the recommended + purchase of the 990 NVME drive wasn't via Amazon but by some 3rd party reseller. Now I don't think I can claim the cashback on the NVME drive. Why would they do me like this!?
Guess I'll have to pull it out of my PC and send it back out of principle.

Amazon usually delivers earlier than what they say so I wouldn't worry too much.

Cashback promotion expires in 2 days but you will still be eligible for the cashback as long as you submit a claim within 30 days of your purchase date.

You'll need a 2.5 inch SATA enclosure. If the cable that comes with the enclosure isn't USB-C, you'll need a USB-A to USB-C adapter too.

Price dropped to £170.99 for Prime Deal.

Silly Amazon won't give a partial discount for the £199.98 order that I placed when Samsung still had the £75 cashback offer even though the expected delivery is still 25/7/23.

Decided to order at this £170.99 price (has an expected delivery of 1/8/23) and hopefully when the £199.98 order arrives (on 25/7/23) I could claim the cashback and send the £199.98 back for a full refund.

Politely explained that placing a back-ordered stock could be considered no different from pre-ordering items and since they have a pre-order price guarantee they could as a one off goodwill gesture have a similar thing for back-orders for when the price drops before dispatch, but the CSA was having none of it. Terrible customer service.

Make sure photos are under 10MB (worth snapping multiples of the SN before you install the drive as I had to submit more than my initial one for some reason)
