An 18th-century manor with impressive views of the Solway Firth, Hunday Manor is a great base from which to explore the Cumbrian countryside and coast. Two-night summer stays with daily breakfast are £139, saving 41% on the usual price, and are available until the end of September.

What's Included
  • Valid Sunday-Thursday 1 July-30 September, 2023. Fridays and Saturdays are an extra £10 per night (payable direct to the hotel)
  • Two nights' accommodation in a Superior Double Room, with daily full English breakfast, for two
  • Not available on 25-27 August, 2023

More Reasons to Go
  • Set in extensive gardens, this 18th-century manor has panoramic views of the Cumbrian coast and is 15 minutes' drive from the Lake District National Park.
  • There are also plenty of golf courses, including Keswick and Sliloth, and fishing spots on the doorstep—ask at reception for more information.
  • You can have a tipple at The Lakes Distillery at Bassenthwaite—around 20 minutes' drive away—or walk the St Bees Head Heritage Coast, which is approximately 25 minutes' drive from the hotel.
  • A designated red squirrel reserve and England's only true mountain forest, Whinlatter Forest Park is approximately 30 minutes' drive from the hotel.
  • Walkers will be spoiled for choice—the hotel recommends a stroll around the shoreline of Buttermere, or for a more serious hike, a climb up Catbells on the western shore of Derwentwater. Both can be reached from the hotel in around 35 minutes by car.

I'd take out insurance, it weirdly shut for a few weeks in January canceling all bookings then reopened under new management in February this year hmmmmmm

I was here for a couple of nights recently with my gf and we really enjoyed our stay and would happily go back.
It's pretty secluded, the building and grounds are very attractive and you can have drinks and dinner outside on an evening (or whenever you fancy I guess) looking out over the Firth.
We paid the uplift to stay in a 'feature room' and enjoyed the four poster bed in a pretty massive room but in hindsight, it wasn't necessary because we were only in there when we slept really as it's so handy for some beautiful places less than 30 mins drive away.

Yeah agree. We stayed in a standard room but found the hotel and grounds a great base to explore. Food was good and room was clean with a comfy bed. Worth it IMHO.

Would this be a nice play to go with my elderly parents?

I go to the lakes often, and it's a lovely place for elderly parents.

Unsure about this hotel in specific though
