for this price i would think that the Audio-Technica M40x is a much better headphone in this form factor and still cheaper. One of the highest rated headphones like this on Amazon, over 14,000 fans, and one of the most purchased. If you want deeper bass, go to the M50x. amazon.co.uk/Aud…c=1 (edited)

I got these a few weeks back for £89.99. I also have 20+ other pairs of open and closed backs and these are up there with the best, an absolute steal for under £100. (edited)

I bought these a little while ago for £90, excellent set of headphones for under £100. Highly recommended.

If you buy them with a v-moda boom mic you can also use them for a gaming headset that works quite well.

Mine arrived today and after 30 mins, here's my first impressions, bare in mind i'm a layman & don't have much experience with headphones (i've only had some Bose and Sony bluetooth ones for the noise cancelling)

Build quality is superb straight away. Metal frame, sturdy, doesn't feel cheap at all (whereas my Bose are £200 and feel like cheap plastic that can snap). Larger then I expected but still pretty lightweight

Cable is very long and braided & can unplug from headphones meaning less chance of breaking or tripping.

These are 'open' so no passive noise cancelling & you can hear everything around you. I imagine these are good for Teams and Slack calls if you work from home (whereas my Sony/Bose make me feel 'deaf' due to being so tight and closed).
The 'openness' is very weird at first especially as i've never had ones like this before. Sounds like there's less base. Music does sound extremely clear & same with podcasts.

The top band is stretchy & pretty comfortable as it adjusts with your head, very little pressure around the ears too so I can imagine wearing these for hours without issues.

Might not be good for everybody but for me, I imagine i'll be using daily for work meetings on Teams, light gaming and music (then swapping to my bluetooth headphones if i need noise cancelling or if I'm on the move).

I bought these 4 years ago for £110. Still going strong and use most weeks for about 15 hours in total. Great headphones, perfect to just plug into the PS5 controller too for gaming.

I love mine. Use them daily for hours and I don't even notice I have them on due to how comfy they are and the open sound stage. Only issue i have had with both these and the HD1 before them is the ear pads disintegrate after a few years. Apparently these are replaceable so its all good.

I have a pair, bought about three/four years ago. Very comfortable and performance is good.

I completely agree, got mine a few years ago. If driven by a quality amp these are superb. As comments suggest, sound is quite subjective so try and return if your don’t like.

Went these under £80 very recently? Ive had mine since the early days. In some ways I like them.. but they just feel lacking, the sponge ear pieces just leak the sound out and audio sounds distant. I know they are open back.. but it basically feels like they have just moved the speakers a tad further away from your ears. So you wont get the rumbling bass sadly.

I dunnnnnoo.. less than £80 id say give them a go. I understand you need to pay a lot of money to make a decent step up from these though.

I got them for £80 a couple years back and ended up selling them. I think they’re overrated personally. Built amazing obviously, but stupidly heavy and I just wasn’t a big fan of the sound.

The AKG K702 for about the same price or slightly higher is far better imo, depending on use

Or for a budget alternative the Koss KTXPRO1. Which I actually far prefer to the X2HR for 1/4 the price
