Virgin Media Offer

I got a call from virgin Media offering me a better offer than I’m already currently on.

I currently am on M125 for £25pm

They now offered me Volt 250, Internet Booster, Basic Tv Package & o2 sim only deal with 100gb data/unlimited calls/unlimited text - all for £35pm

Is this a decent offer? How does Volt 250 compare to M125?

Thanks

Go through each of the options without completing the final checkout. You may be offered a discounted rate at pre checkout for the next tier. I picked 500megs and was offered the 1gig for half the price eg using your example, £7.50 a month extra Vs. £15. Was pleasantly surprised.

Just to share FWIW, I was on £15pm for 125mb broadband only but my contract was up this month so I chose to cancel the contract citing the discount ending.

VM called me the next day and tried to offer:
£17 for 125mb + free Virgin stream box
£20 for 250mb + free Virgin stream box
£21 for 125mb + free Virgin stream box + netflix standard plan included (but had to pay £10 activation fee).

I decided to pass on the offers... then called them back and asked if they could look at it again. Sure enough, they could not bring up those discounted offers when I called them but they said they would get the loyalty team to ring me back and they would try. The loyalty team rang back and actually without any need to haggle gave me 250mb + free virgin stream box (no fees) for £16pm.

I wouldn't mind paying that last price you listed just awaiting the call from them now after cancelling yesterday

I'd take it. Jokers are nearly tripling mine next month.

Mine was going from 23 to 71, chat were useless. I noticed though if you go to upgrade you get to start a new 18 month contract at todays prices

It looks like a good offer if you actually require it. Otherwise, it is £10 more for them.

No mid contract price hike on that £35pm 18 month contact… pfft what a joke!?

That reminds me - they have been charging me for both VMM & O2, I only have a VMM SIM....

You would get Volt anyway because of the O2 SIM, which probably has a 2 year contract and will run separately to the VM service.
Basic TV will be the free to air service.
The SIM on its own is worth less than £20 as they are offering 150 for £20.
How much of that will you use, especially as you are on 125 and nothing else at the moment? Why not haggle down the cost of the 125 because they double it anyway with every upgrade
I was on 125 at £17. They sent notice that they were raising the price to £24. I was offered 900 up & down by a local service, so I gave notice. Retentions rang, and suddenly I could have it for a new 24 month contract at £17. So they can do it. I still jumped. Now I don't have to deal with script readers based 10,000 miles away

You all lucky..... Im on Volt 125mb £23 a month. It was either that or get ripped off at £43 for Volt m250, at least the sim was included in that (now im paying £5 to O2 seperately).

How to negotiate after new contract to get a better deal? I've passed cooling off now. (edited)

cancel, but before you cancel make sure your preferences are set to allow them to contact. You'll get a few calls from India, then eventually the Swansea team will call with a good offer

    125Mb:
I've been on the phone today. 35 mins.

Was paying £17 up to May. They increased it to £22.

Going up to £58 in a month.

The best offered was £24 for another 18 months. I accepted it due to call centre fatigue and losing the will to speak to any more staff and explain the same details to every one they forward me in to.

Yes I accept they won (edited)

    Landline

    For £31 a month.

Also got £150 cashback by signing up as a new customer via perks at work.

Which channels? They're currently offering me the 1gb plus TV 360? I don't even use the TV, the box has been dead for 4 years!

EDIT: I don't expect you to list them obviously! Just wondering what the package is called? (edited)
