Before you book anything with opodo, do some research. Search for opodo of Facebook and have a look at what people are going through with them. They are an awful company who love to cancel flights and give you a battle to get a refund. They are no longer covered by atol or any other scheme.

Oh how I wish I’d seen this post before booking a flight with them! I am currently in a battle with them after they cancelled my flights while I was at Heathrow airport having travelled all the way from south Wales

Also its colder than UK in those months. The weather is akin to Russian winters in Istanbul between January to March

Winter in Istanbul is about as cold and rainy & snowy as London. Summer is quite warmer and currently scorching in all southern Europe which is not suitable for long-running outdoor activities. As a local, I definitely recommend a winter trip to Istanbul for these prices.

Unreal price, I paid £275 last March.

I paid a bit extra (£25 per passenger) with Booking to have the freedom to move my return date as I thought it would be required, and it was.

Impeccable service, booked me onto the my preferred flight and secured the same seats as previously booked on the original flight.

To get this flexibility with Turkish Airlines was running into £1000 per flight.

Hopefully opodo can provide a similar service as a broker.

On topic of weather, lots of snow in March, was well prepared for it.
Pack warm, waterproof shoes and you'll be fine.

This was a huge surprise to me. Always expected circa 15-18c during winter.

Urgh, you'd still have to go to Turjey, which is an absolute dump!
    jinkssick's avatar
Turjey maybe but Turkey on the other hand, nah.

Just got back from Istanbul. Well worth a trip

I wouldn't go during these months, personally.

You could end up very wet for the duration, which isn't great when you intend to be outside for a number of days or taking the ferry etc.

Great destination. Very good price. Heat from me

Just avoid opodo..you will have a fight to get your money back from them if anything is cancelled or changed
    jinkssick's avatar
    yeah just buy direct.

    Do not book with Opodo.

Very important if you book with a low cost carrier such as Wizzair - never do it through a travel agent if you want to add bags or other services. It will almost always work out cheaper booking direct with the airline. Wizz in particular will charge very high baggage fees. But if you book a fare direct with Wizz that includes baggage you will pay a lot less overall.

(And if you do ever book with a travel agent, please lord don't use Opodo. Whatever you save I guarantee you it isn;t worth it!)

Bunch of better travel agents/booking direct with airlines if you look through Skyscanner - e.g. for your first itinerary skyscanner.net/tra…n=1
