    Hi
I have a Lenovo desktop with 250GB drive. It’s is NVMe compatible. If I purchase this, how do I clone windows 11 from old SSD to this new NVMe?

    PLEASE ASSIST 🤞🏽

Don't, save your data and do a fresh install from media creation tool, if your registry's screwed up but still runs you'll be copying over poor running system, fresh install all the way!

There was an Argos newsletter signup offer for 5 off 40 purchase. Not sure if it's available though.

Have so many of these SSD’s since prices fell. Need a fast sub-£200 WD or Samsung model now.

Yes, I have done so in several desktops and laptops.

Wonder if Apple can see that SSDs are so cheap?
    Paul_S77's avatar
Yeah but because they slap 'Apple' on the product or prefix a product with the oh so cool 'i' they think of a figure, double it, and add an extra £25

Would it be better to buy this and an enclosure to use it as an external hard drive? Or is it not worth it?
    andy_mcnoob's avatar
If you need it a 1tb external drive, then yes it’s worth it. Otherwise probably not
I have one that I use in an enclosure, it works very well.

    Absolutley useless with computers...
    Would this fit into a HP14 laptop cf2007 intel core i3 4gb ram 256gb..?
If so is it worth me buying this ? i don't do gaming or store films on it just general web browsing and storing photos.

And how much should a PC shop charge to do it ?.

Google your model number and check the HP support pages, if it supports a m2 NVME SSD then you're sorted.

So you need the space? If not then don't bother. If just storage then you could just but ausb external drive.

Check YouTube for your model number to see if there are any videos showing how to replace it, it's usually just a few Screws. (edited)

    This or the Intel 670p??
    Paul_S77's avatar
Both fairly similar in performance, but one review said 980 just pipped it.

Intel 670p has DRAM but is QLC. I've found it to be a good drive. Had it for one year. Now 98% life left. Have about 350GB used and use it for generally lighter workloads on laptop. It's very good as an OS / apps drive.

980 uses HMB (Host Memory Buffer) as it is DRAMless but uses better quality TLC NAND (edited)

Would 980 be better than Kioxia Exceria with dram?
