STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN is a new action RPG by Square Enix Ltd. in collaboration with Team NINJA from KOEI TECMO GAMES, that brings a bold, new vision to the FINAL FANTASY series. With the memory of their struggle buried deep in their hearts...

In this hard-core action RPG, Jack must hazard numerous gauntlets to bring the light of the crystals back to a kingdom conquered by darkness.

Fight your way through excruciating battles with a variety of means to pulverize your enemies. With multiple difficulty options and a wide selection of jobs and weapons available to customize your party, you can choose exactly how you want to play.

Will restoring the crystals' light usher in peace or a new form of darkness? ...Or perhaps something else entirely?

Anyone know if this is similar in style to 16? I really like 16 so would probably jump at this.

Nah its made by Team Ninja so its basically Nioh with a final fantasy skin. It's mediocre but for this price it's not bad.

Loved this game and sank an embarassing number of hours into it. Story and characters become surprisingly endearing as the game progresses. It almost feels like both a parody and a loveletter at times.

It's my first "soulslike"/Nioh game. The combat mechanics are top notch.

Most playstyles will centre's around building your special attack gauge via the "Soul shield" mechanic which is one of my favourite parry systems in any games I've played. You can also get suprisingly creative with your combos, especially if you get the hang of changing jobs partway through

The game has a fleshed out tutorial mode, and also makes an effort to explain some of its more esoteric and almost exploit-looking mechanics (like chain cancelling).

Enemy encounters need to be approached carefully like a 3D Ninja Gaiden, Dark Souls, or Nioh game rather than a Devil May Cry or other action based final fantasy games.

The DLCs ramp up the difficulty considerably, but there's usually a clever solution to squeeze through. The game can become min-maxer hell if you spend too long on DLC 2. And DLC 3 ties the story up nicely (but you'll probably start it quite overleved if you tried unlocking everything DLC 2 had to offer). There's also a pretty active community on Reddit and Youtube with guides on how to make crazy late game builds as well as getting to better grips with the early game mechanics, but the game can be beatwn without this help.

I'm glad i didn't pay full price for it, but i got it for £18 last year at Black Friday sales and am still enjoying it.

Had a blast with this game, highly recommend it if you like FF or Dark Souls.

Got it from Curry’s last year. The graphics aren’t great and I’m not sure on the story but I like the gameplay. One of my favourite games
