One of Bruce Lee's best films, a young martial arts student returns home for the funeral of his martial arts teacher who died under mysterious circumstances. A rival Japanese academy are suspected but there is no proof.

Big Boss 4K amazon.co.uk/pla…ZM2

An instant box office sensation upon its original release in Hong Kong in 1971, The Big Boss is the film that catapulted former child actor and Hollywood TV sidekick Bruce Lee to cinematic superstardom. Cheng Chao-on (Lee) moves to Thailand to work at a factory alongside his uncle and cousins.

Game of Death 4K amazon.co.uk/Gam…G7B

Five years after the release of Enter the Dragon and the death of its star Bruce Lee, director Robert Clouse was recruited by Golden Harvest to complete Lee's last, unfinished masterwork, only a third of which was filmed before he died: Game of Death. The result is an exciting rollercoaster ride that blends Lee's martial arts mastery with Clouse's eye for nail-biting suspense.

Way of the Dragon 4K amazon.co.uk/Way…QSS

Having established himself as the biggest box office draw in Hong Kong, Bruce Lee leveraged his success into a new deal with Golden Harvest that would allow him to write and direct as well as star in his own projects. He only got to complete one film under this deal before his untimely death, but it's arguably his most personal and exciting: The Way of the Dragon.

Bruce Lee passed away 50 years ago on 20th July 1973
I think this discount is probably a memorial to Bruce Lee

£1 each is a proper bargain.

I seem to recall that these had high age rating when I last looked. Anything in there that should stop me letting my 12-year-old son watching it? (And nostalgia for me!)

They've always been 18 rated. Is it justified in 2023? Probably not, but then again the BBC have only just classified Watership Down as a PG after 46 years as a U rated film. (edited)

    I bought them off iTunes
    They look amazing!
No extras though, but for that you'll have to buy the boxset for £120

Hate to say it but Naseem Hamed showed even smaller boxers could make a fortune in the ring. Acting in B movies is nowhere near as good, or as entertaining as the Prince.

Bruce was just some silly hype job. A John Claude type character. But in the 70's era.

We don't get these sort of people now as they are all found out

It's weirdly entertaining how people think, I wonder how people end up thinking like this it puzzles me but I have worked in retail so it appears it is very normal to think in such a one dimensional manner.

Just to add some detail though that counters this irrationality >

    1. Bruce Lee existed first of all. So whilst we don't have proof of his overall fighting ability as tested against multiple opponents, we do know he isn't fictional as with the big man up their in the clouds people love to get worked up over.
    2. Bruce Lee obviously I say obviously in the literal sense, but some people don't believe in this, he was a highly trained athlete as evidenced by his physique, not good enough you say so are other faux martial artists.
    3. He wrote and published an in depth fighting style called Jeet Kune Do. A kind of compilation of the best parts of other martial arts Lee studied. If this is fake or not effective then the very source material is surely fake and therefore the basis of all martial arts per se. What is the MMA school of thought regarding Jeet Kune Do? Here's one such evaluation >

    mmachannel.com/is-…ok/

"JDK is an extremely effective martial art that is one of the most useful styles to learn for self-defense. It teaches you to not only fight from a prescribed set of rules but to adapt your style to effectively counter your opponent.

Many people enjoy learning Jeet Kune Do because of its lack of traditional rules and formalities, bringing a level of freedom to martial arts that many other styles lack."

    bleacherreport.com/art…mma

"Bruce Lee is the modern grandfather of Mixed Martial Arts.

There is no denying his impact on the sport—the fighters, the coaches, the fans and even its promoters. In some way or another, almost every person touched by MMA will praise Bruce Lee for the contributions he's made to the form of martial arts."

If Bruce Lee is a fraud then so are ALL martial arts practitioners including MMA fighters. Humans love progress which is why Djokovic is the best, and Nadal and Federer slightly before him, but he looks likely to be usurped by Alcarez. Progress begets the man before him, in other words the men before him built the foundations for which he practices in the present moment and he in turn will reinforce the foundations for future humans. This is the way. Bruce Lee built new foundations by studying and removing the bloat and in turn creating the path for future progress. (edited)

If you’re into Martial Arts flicks & anything Bruce Lee related, I recommend a recent TV series called Warrior. It is based on an original concept by Bruce Lee & is executive-produced by his daughter. Brilliant series.

Lee’s speed is so legendary that most cheetahs have a photo of him on their walls, and Usain Bolt has to watch his movies in slow motion.

These appear to be digital copies via Arrow Films who have just released the movies in a very expensive £100+ physical set so this is a bargain if you want just the films.

I bought the box set, it is amazing value for what you get but yeah it's a lot of money to drop.
