Homebase seem to have a fairly decent deal on compost at the moment. A lot of the 50L bags are 3 for £15. The choice of brands is pretty good and some are peat free.

I have just highlighted the one with the biggest saving but I believe this has peat in it. I’ve used this a few times in the past and it is pretty good.

Free click and collect. Stock is good at the moment.

That stuff is absolutely horrendous! I really wouldn’t recommend it. Full of sticks and litter usually.

Sad that £5 for 50L is now considered a deal for compost

So glad I started making my home made compost using old pallets to make 2 bins last year. My third 1000L compost pile is almost complete.... 😁

It says all purpose, but I wonder if it's suitable for indoor plants?

I use that kind of stuff mixed in with perlite and some worm castings for indoor plants.

I sieved some of these which I bought from Wickes last year. Rubbish - full of stones, lumps and not the usual Jack's Magic. 60l is better. Best is to dig DEEP into your garden, make your own compost using food scrap and garden waste and dig deep to get to the clay and break it up. All shop bought compost dries in no time. I topped a whole whole layer of horse manure into a part of my allotment. I had huge courgettes last year and this year, nothing new added, my sweetcorns have grown much faster than those grown on a layer of added compost.

I had 9 bags of these and they are all spot on so maybe you had a dud batch.
Topping the soil with manure is amazing, trouble I have is the dog eats it!
