I've just sold my used 3060 Ti for this much, that is objectively an inferior card, so this is a great deal for a brand new card. Should have been this much to begin with though.

Edit: this comment is factually wrong, but leaving it for the comedic effect. (edited)

The rtx4060 is a worse card.

The rtx3060ti is 15% faster in rasterised. Its also about the same amount faster in raytracing. (edited)

Hm - this, 3060 12gb or the 6700xt 12gb? Needed for about 3-4 years. Ta.

how is this for 1440p? currently have a 1080ti and only play diablo 4. worth it for dlss alone?

I've been playing Diablo 4 on a 1080 Ti at 1440p myself and have been pretty happy with the performance. It's also a game where FSR looks good, so DLSS is less of a concern. Frame generation also doesn't do that much in D4 from what I've seen, compared to the boost it offers in other games. Even then it's somewhat underwhelming on these 8GB cards, since it has a VRAM cost attached and that's at a premium with these. The 4060 is also only 10% faster than the 1080 Ti and you're giving up 3GB of VRAM for that. Sure, the lower power consumption is nice, but I have my 1080 Ti undervolted to 800mV/1759MHz and it only pulls ~140-150W itself in an average gaming scenario. Combined with a memory overclock it's only around a 3% loss of performance from stock settings and 100W+ more power draw.

Personally, I think it'd be an extremely underwhelming sidegrade. I'd want at least a 4070 to upgrade mine, though certainly not at current prices.

Worth it to upgrade my girlfriend from a Gtx 970?

8GB of VRAM seems about 4GB light in 2023 (edited)

This would be because of how old the GTX970. I posted an RX6700XT 12GB deal for £300 with Starfield Premium included. I have seen the rtx3060 12gb for below £250 also.

But you can also get an rx6600 8gb for under £180. (edited)

The three year old 3060 12GB is a better card, and costs £10-20 more. The BUS is 192-Bit, this is 128. The memory is 12GB, this 8. The memory is also higher end and much faster Samsung. Actually faster memory than all the 40 series cards. Yes, 4090 included.

DLS3 is exclusive to the 40 series, but it is not free, and still requires vastly more vram than DLS2.

Wouldn't say it's better, but definitely competitive. And 12GB VRAM is not to be sniffed at either. Though nVidia did their trick of releasing an 8GB version with the same name and same cut-down memory bus so don't get them mixed up.

This card got bad reviews on how hot it gets even on well ventilated cases, and fan noise because of the cooling issues. (edited)

The RTX 4060 non Ti is a £200 card do not waste your money on this.

I've had my GTX 1060 since 2017 and I think it's time for it to retire. Just bought, thanks for posting!

Edit: they’ve already dispatched it in 35 minutes, quite impressive speed :O (edited)

Mate I'm in the same boat. Finally 2 weeks ago I bought rtx 3070 for £385... now I'm having second thoughts.

How much better than a 1660ti for 1080p gaming only
    Smoggy1970's avatar
    A lot better.

Trying to decide if this is a worth upgrade from an Rx580 8GB or 1650 super to add to the NUCi9 deal from here or to wait and shell out for a better GPU (already spent £650 of NUC and 2TB SSD!) Thoughts? (edited)

Check it fits in your NUCi9, this is 2.5 slots wide

I have 3060 (8gb if not mistaken), is it worth it to upgrade? Tia

Worth it over my 1060 6gb? I don’t know if I should just hold out
    BrafferZ's avatar
I cracked 2 weeks ago and got new Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 EAGLE OC 8GB on amazon for £385.
Now I'm having second thought as this is much cheaper... but if you take the DLSS 3 out of the equation, the 4060 is significantly weaker then the 3070.
