Decent budget holiday. A couple of dates around the £400 price mark in October. Deal based on the 11th - 18th October. The park is 22km from the airport, so is quite close, transfers would need to be factored in, think transport links are decent. Have included a 20kg bag, as figured most would want that. Flights are booked through Ryanair.

The clue’s in the name. This is a fabulous, bustling parc close to the captivating Ostia coast
Fabulous by name, fabulous by nature! This Italian gem is 8km from the beautiful Ostia coast and surrounded by 70 acres of pine forest.

Camping Village Fabulous is well named as it has a brilliant pool complex, which opens in mid-April, with a massive swimming pool, lagoon pool, waterslide and whirlpool. There’s a superb restaurant and bar, as well as a gelateria for when it’s time to cool down. Fancy getting active? There’s a great animation programme for kids, with tennis courts, football, volleyball and trampolining. Head off parc and you’ll find a glorious beach a few kilometres away, where you can wiggle your toes in the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Oh and Rome is right on your doorstep too - fabulous!

Why you’ll love this parc
  • Set within 70 acres of beautiful alpine trees
  • Public transport on the doorstep to take you straight into Rome
  • Close to the Ostia coast and its beautiful beaches

This is on our list for Aug holidays since years ago, but never managed to go. I think it may be next Aug, 3 days in Rome and a week in the campsite.
For those restricted going only during school holidays, this is a cheap holiday even during Aug. I think it was about £700-800 when we looked for 4 of us. And during May holidays it was about £500.
You've got lots of flights from various places in the UK. And the campsite is more or less the same distance from both airports in Rome. So you can find cheap options.
The campsite can arrange a taxi from/to the airport for you, we've discussed this with them several times. Going into Rome is easy, and the trip is quite straightforward and short.
I can't say this is a good or a bad campsite, as I've not used it. But the logistics and the prices are good. For accommodation, the best prices we found was usually via The Human Company, which I think is their own website. My understanding is the campsite is quite big. (edited)

We've been and I would definitely recommend it. It is a big campsite, but not as big as some others I've been to in Italy, such as Norcenni (which is basically over 2 different sites). But it's very convenient to Rome for those wanting a day trip.
We go to the 'sister' campsite I Pini (which is alot smaller (and cheaper), and a little further from Rome) and always book directly with Human Company, as they're always the cheapest and include towels/linen (which alot of 3rd part companies usually charge for).

May be worth looking through this, as it might help you decide: roma-pass.com/wea…er/

there was a free coach when we went a few years ago, you catch it opposite the entrance.
You have to buy bus tickets in advance and validate them on the bus. So don't get on the bus and ask for a ticket, they don't have them (edited)

Worked on this site in the past! A really great site, excellent location for rome via public transport! Restaurants on site are good aswel as some of the local restaurants I’d you have car hire!

This camp site is really great!!

If we are going - ten minutes from an incredibly Roman ruin called Ostia Antica! Easy train into Rome also. Lovely beaches etc etc…

a friend told me go to croatia instead of Italy

same weather, great sights.... less annoying tourists, rip offs

Croatia is on our list, too. Everyone told us it is great. Everything apart from the high prices. We've looked last year for campsites in Croatia, as everything we found was too expensive. Even with campsites, we found nothing under £1,000. We paid £400 for France. (edited)
