    VA panel. Don't do it...

I have the a 27 inch Samsung G7 VA monitor. It has been amazing.

Indeed Samsung squeezed the absolute most of the VA technology and with great results.

The other panels might not be as well calibrated, with no invert ghosting or panning issues at all, great colours, etc.

Nonetheless, if they are sufficiently good, that is a pretty good price for a WQHD to be honest. I feel it is up to the user eventually. Who is tempted go for it, test it, if you don't like it just return it. Again, who is tempted by this offer might actually end up keeping the monitor

I hope somebody who buys now comes back to this thread to share the experience.

I bought this last time and sent it back. I've since read the gsync flickering issues are on almost every curved VA panel (think Samsung make them?).

Even without that not sure I can deal with the black smearing on VA panels for games.

Oh and Dell picked up my return but then it was "missing" on my refund status. Had to contact them via email + phone call to get my refund actioned 2 weeks later. (edited)

It's an ultrawide monitor. 34" ultrawide has similar, if not the same, pixel density as 27" widescreen for the same vertical resolution. 109 ppi in this instance, if I'm not mistaken.

This is amazing, ticks all the boxes for me.

This ones a bonus if I understand correctly - Upstream and downstream ports, so is this basically a kvm built in? Could I put my mouse and keyboard in and whatever device I switch to it would work?
    Osmondo's avatar
Yep, I have my peripherals plugged in to it then just plug the downstream USB into the other device.

It’s an amazing monitor. I got it for £360 so £280 is a steal. 100% recommend

No concerns on curved screen use for work? I’ve heard other say it messes up their perception etc. so I would be worried using it for 8 hrs a day. Or am I misinformed ?

This has minimal curve at 1800R, in fact a flat screen might be worse in comparison. ive used a 34" flat, samsung g9 49" with 1000R(this was hard to work on), now I have this screen, very happy with it.

Great monitor, well worth the money.

Bought this for my son a few weeks back for £300 ish. Gave it a good test to see if I’d get one myself - then stock ran out.

It’s decent. Yes some minor smearing (and only in black/dark sections - Diablo4 is most apparent for smearing, and you have to really look for it.)

Diablo with IPS glow is eww too. Neither tech is great with dark scenes. Bring on the oleds!

Bargain sub £300 for this imo.

How long does the newsletter code take to come through??
    Mikstamike's avatar

Couple of hours. If you don’t have a code I can supply you with a 10% off one
  12. jusdeals's avatar
BLC code doesn’t work not valid for this monitor, the newsletter only gives 5% off confused why this is getting voted for when you can’t get it for £288 (edited)

Most likely students & other employee perk portals

I bought the usb-c version a year or so ago for similar money and I was hesitant, but it’s brilliant.

ultra wide is great for productivity with 2 documents side by side. Good for gaming as well.

That said if you’re intending to use it with a laptop I’d really urge to go for the usb-c version. One cable is an absolute game changer.

    Voted hot (edited)

    Which model was that
  16. warzoneastro's avatar
I have this purely to work on (no gaming). For that purpose its a great screen - having two windows side by side is so handy.
    nectar's avatar
Do you find any issues with prolonged use? What kind of work if I can ask, for me it would be mostly excel, PowerPoint teams etc
  17. Cameron92's avatar
Great if you like smearing. I'd prefer dealing with IPS glow.
    The.Fat.Cat's avatar
Agreed, I hate ghosting/Black smearing so avoid VA, but if they absolutely 'must' have a curved screen IPS isn't an option.

Seems although newsletter 10% off codes no longer work for this deal. Hopefully BLC codes still work

I had it for a few weeks but decided to return it as the smearing is unreal and the colours are quite washed.. all in all not great.

good luck for the delivery. If the delivery date is not immediate then they are most likely to never be delivered.

At this price point isn't this the best 34" VA panel you can buy for gaming? It's curved, 1440p, 144Hz, 2ms, AMD Freesync support. Or is there other brands for slightly more can get much better performance? (edited)
    ScuzzyP's avatar
The new HP X34c is looking pretty good, can be had for a tad more via EPP.

    It does have a 1500r curve….
  24. Bengaboy's avatar
Bought this 2 months ago. Not used it for games, but use it for work.

Splitting the screen for multiple terminal and VS code windows is amazing for productivity and the screen quality is pretty decent for the price.

    I'd highly recommend it (edited)

Are there any other coupons to try? Newsletter one isn't applicable
    nectar's avatar
If your work is eligible you can get the same coupon through Dell Advantage. Also not sure if you go through Quidco they have 7% cash back + 5% off coupon and I think it takes you to £285 (as cashback is on the ex VAT price if I remember correctly) but not sure if the monitor is eligible tbh (edited)

Order has been dispatched early! Expected delivery on the 8th August, initially it was the 27th I think!

This is currently 18% off at Dell - compared to this deal it’s not a deal so I didn’t post it as a deal, but wanted to mention it anyway. Desperately waiting for this to drop in price
