I had an expired GPU subscription. I noticed that the 12 month codes on CDKeys were on sale for £28.99 which seemed like a better deal so I bought two of those and one of the 3 month codes. I stopped there as I couldn't extend the subscription any further. Microsoft wouldn't allow it, saying I had reached the limit. I finally also purchased a stackable 1 month code for Game Pass Ultimate for £7.99 from CDKeys. All together I payed £73.45.
My GPU subscription will end on 11th October 2025 with recurring billing turned on.
To summarize, I paid £73.45 for 2 years, 2 months and 5 days of GPU. Not bad at all. I'm not sure why but I seem to have got an exact conversion to GPU as regular Xbox Live Gold after applying the 1 month GPU code.
And Game Pass is going up in price too, probably due to Starfield, so stocking up now before these codes dry up could be sensible
However the code supplied said it had already been redeemed.
Cdkeys are washing their hands stating no refunds and that the code was working when they sent it.... I literally tried adding to my account as soon as I received it.
Now they are not responding to support emails.
I've bought a code from ebay instead which worked.
So just a warning, if they sell you a duff code, you have no comeback at all.
3 months gold = 50 days GPU. x3 = £20.97 = 150 days
If you're buying it for Gold, the 12 months is the better option. If you're buying it to convert to GPU, 3 month keys are the typically the best value as they have a higher conversion rate (assuming you already have an active GPU you are extending) (edited)
I bought 6 months gold expecting to be getting 6 months still but it converted it to ultimate for roughly 4 and a half months. I always thought ultimate would drop and would be left with the remaining months as gold only which I would have been fine with
If you want full Game Pass that's extra. A three month Xbox Live Gold code now redeems at a 3:2 ratio with a new/lapsed Game Pass sub.
If you have an existing GPU sub, 3 months of Gold gives you 50 days of GPU
So you would get 240 days of GPU from the gold cards.
When you are already subbed, they give 50 days.
Can have up to three years of GPU (from today) so get as close as you can to Aug 3rd 2026.
Did mine earlier and worked out at 16x3 months took me until Jun 26 2026 for £111.84
Spent £78 for an Ultimate expiry date of 28th October 2025. Monthly subscription for the same amount of time would be £312, assuming the price doesn’t increase by then.
How many off these 3 month live gold codes do I need order to max out sub?
Also looking on key sites the 3 month xbox live seems cheaper? Around £4?
So the £1 trick no longer works so I need buy a batch of these and then add 1 month GPU to convert?

I have tried to use another browser to do this aswell.
As the price has gone up to £7.49, I purchased 3 x 12 Month Codes at £28.99 each, which were received as 12 x 3 Month codes by email.
As my Game Pass Ultimate expired yesterday, I applied the codes, then used the Game Pass Ultimate 1 Month for £1 offer on the Game Pass website which then converted the 3 year Gold subscription to 2 years of Game Pass Ultimate.
