Portal™ is a new single player game from Valve. Set in the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories, Portal has been called one of the most innovative new games on the horizon and will offer gamers hours of unique gameplay.

The game is designed to change the way players approach, manipulate, and surmise the possibilities in a given environment; similar to how Half-Life® 2's Gravity Gun innovated new ways to leverage an object in any given situation.

Players must solve physical puzzles and challenges by opening portals to maneuvering objects, and themselves, through space.

Reviews aren't too flattering.

I must admit, the trailer had me wanting out before I'd even started. If the selling point is RTX they really need to slow the trailer's editing and first-person movement way the eff down so I can actually see properly, and also don't make me rewind and pause to see RTX on/off comparisons.

Wow, these are both must plays. Portal 2 is the best reviewed game on Steam ever as per steam250 .com, and Portal 1 is in the top 10 as well.

Recently played Portal 1 for the first ever time - never played it before, did it with the Ray Tracing feature

Pretty fun game. The cake is a lie!

Looking forward to playing Portal 2 one day.

I got Portal 1 free or very cheap a long while ago on Steam. Helpfully that reduces the price of Portal 2 on Steam to just 64p - 21p cheaper than expected!

Great deal. But I have now owned these games on xbox360 and steamdeck (maybe other platforms) and I just can never get into them. I think the concept is just beyond my feeble mind. I end up looking up solutions to passing a level all the time and then it just takes away from my enjoyment. And I’m not even that big a fan of cake…. (edited)

It looks a blast, still some tinkering to do, but I had a quick play through and enjoyed it thoroughly.
