New low for this great budget drive.
This is effectively the same drive as the Netac NV7000, ADATA Gammix S70 Blade, Silicon Power XS70.
All the reviews raving about those drives also apply to this one.

I've now installed these exact drives in 5 machines all all have been working flawlessly.

Superb performer and very reliable.
The heatsink comes in the box but is not installed, which is nice as it others that come with heatsinks attached have their warranty voided if you remove it.

If you want to judge this drive by the Amazon reviews, be sure to use the drop-down and select the drive instead of 'All Formats'.
You'll find there are no 1, 2, or even 3 star reviews. one 4 star and the rest are 5.

Seems good to me but deals are voted on by who posts them, not the actual deal many times.

And tech. gets so many terrible anti-deals going Hot all the time.

Yeah, a lot of people see the name and immediately vote cold.
It'll probably take a while for them to get more confidence in them, it did with Netac (and Netac and fanxiang drives are actually the same, all manufactured by BiWin).

I ordered this yesterday. Some extensive research. Had to watch subtitled, Spanish YouTube vids on speed tests as there's not much on it. Read speeds of 6600 and write speeds of 5500. There's reviews that say higher but I wanted to see it happen. It's supposed to undergo extensive longevity testing and a couple of people on YouTube have had it for a while. So I took a punt on it. Almost double the price for those speeds with Samsung, Kingston and Seagate. So why not at that price. (edited)

Yeah, I get that a lot.
My 'expert opinion' isn't always welcomed by some here and they seem to hold a grudge. (edited)

Would these be ideal if I just need a secondary SSD to store my failing HDD drive data on PC? Or would the cheaper s660 be fine for my purpose. Anyone have these ssd for a while and had no problems? Is the "bad rep" because of the drive performance itself or because it's a "no" brand. Tempted as I already run a 990 pro as my primary drive but need a cheaper 2nd ssd to store my 1 Tb HDD. Should I get this or s660 fanxiang as they are "cheaper"+ heatsink or spend a bit more and get a "well" known brand (edited)

If its just literally to back up a mechanical HD it might be overkill and if you want a ‘name’ you could get a slower 2TB 3500mb/s ish drive for less.

The Solidigm p44 Pro would be a better drive than this and has been almost as cheap and often around £100

The brand is fine, the more well known brands are often just rebadges of the same thing so this will be ok

Anyone know if this would be any good for a gaming SSD please?

Bought a crucial p5 and it’s running very hot (known issue) so looking to replace.

Yep, these days you get TLC and QLC, they are the cells and how many bits of data can be stored in them.
TLC - 3 bits per cell, better endurance, more expensive to manufacture.
QLC - 4 bits per cell, lower endurance, cheaper to manufacture.

3D NAND refers to the way the cells are laid out, pretty much all SSD's are 3D NAND now.
